I find it kind of heartless how such a movie is dismissed as a piece of sentimental frivolity. Since when? I find it difficult to understand that this sort of movie is sentimental - it may be in parts, but that's not the point. This was about morality, about humanity, the human condition. To show you that you shouldn't blow all your life away, because of life's unpredictability. This had a meaning, a PROPER meaning, unlike other movies. I would highly recommend this movie, because when you cry during this movie, you will feel better for it. Sometimes it's good to cry, and where a movie can make you laugh and cry around the same time, there's no way you'd want to miss this. If you want a REAL sentimental pile of garbage, go check out Titanic, which in my opinion, is TOTALLY overrated.

In The Bucket List, Nicholson is human-ish. And Freeman is so human.
The Bucket List will quickly be kicked into oblivion, but, at a lifetime-achievement-award ceremony, Nicholson’s tempest will fit nicely into a montage of Crazy Jack moments.
The most insipidly innocuous film ever made about facing mortality and living it up before passing away, The Bucket List has as much poetry and poise as its clumsy, clunky title.
I don't know if Rob Reiner is the one to blame for this atrocity, but he directed and coproduced.
Once again, the critics have it all wrong. Glad we didn't rely on their rating. The movie is wonderful in every way. The only part that was over the top was the crashing of the two cars. Making a "Bucket List" is a good idea for everyone, as it is helpful to set goals and contemplate one's mortality. We will highly recommend this movie.

Well, of course the audience score for this movie is really high. That’s embarrassing. You can get anyone to think a movie is deep and thoughtful if you make it about people who have died or are dying. Sadness does not inherently make something worthwhile and important. General moviegoing audiences think loud noises + jump scares= scary; big explosions + swelling orchestral music= epic; and family/relationship drama + death= sad. That’s all this movie boils down to. Recognize Morgan Freeman? Recognize Jack Nicholson? Does death scare you? Wanna watch a movie with your religious grandma other than God Is Not Dead? We’ve got just the movie for you! If you actually want some sort of story that feels authentic and not generated entirely so two aging actors could keep their SAG cards, I’d look elsewhere.

Between Rob Reiner, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman there are some truly touching moments. But the missed opportunities are far too common. A real shame, too.

Chouette, deux stars qui n'ont jamais eu l'occasion de jouer ensemble, on s'en réjouit d'avance, deux monstres sacrés, on peut le dire ! Las ! la réjouissance est aussi brève que la déception est grande dans cette espèce de pièce de théâtre dramatico-burlesque où deux pauvres vieux attendent leur trépas programmé.
Deux personnages dont l'écriture éculée ne fait que ressortir encore davantage les poncifs pontifiants sur le sens de la vie et au-delà... On s'ennuie bien vite dans ce cloaque psychologique d'une naïveté confondante. Putain, où est cette saloperie de télécommande, zappe-moi ça, mon gars ! je veux pas mourir con.
