Would be so much better if it was easier to figure out what has happening. However this film will have you asking whoevers around you whats happening every five minutes and leaves you with a disapointing ending. Proof that films are better if they end with everyone happy.

I saw this with about five other people in the theater. I stayed until the bitter end and I mean bitter. As for the others, 2 walked out half way through. Just another moronic flick for people who had lobotomies. Avoid.

You have to enter the theatre with low expectations. If you go into the movie expecting "Jaws", well you are not going to be happy. I thought The Cave was great movie. Computer graphics. Visually appealing, the creatures could had more detail. I enjoyed the cast. The writers could be shot for some VERY bad dialogue in spots to make the female rock climber sound like a stereotypical surfer which she was not. Also, a bad one liner they gave Morris Chestnutt. Overall, I love it. My best friend and I screamed, laughed, wished a couple of cast members characters dead. (Our wish did come true.) What more can a girl ask. P.S. For the ladies, the male cast members are hunks. The eye candy is enough to get you into the theatre. Expand

Ok first of all, it's not all as bad as it's being made out to be. The editing is poor and you really can't understand what's happening. A bad sign in a movie is when the characters summarise what happened in the last couple of scenes, just in case you didn't understand. However it's not a boring movie, it's very predictable but in some places so outrageous you find it quite enjoyable to watch. Nevertheless, i will never see a worse ending to a movie, and obvious assist to a sequel. I have a feeling there won't be a sequel after the reviews it's been receiving. After watching this, you can't halp but look on the bright side, at least you didn't go to see Shark Boy and Lava Girl. This was bad. VERY bad. I was so bored I ended up playing Tetris on my cell phone through half of the film. Lazy, unimaginative filmmaking. At least there were a few unintentional laughs.

Brutal.. if you want a scary spelunking movie, watch The Descent.. it's a british indie, actually scary, if not terrifying. Good acting, awesome camera work.. and claustrophobia really sets in... that's all you need to know.

While this film will never compare to The Descent, it's honestly not a bad monster flick. It was pretty entertaining as a whole even if the storyline and acting lousy. It makes up for these mistakes with lots of monster mayhem and action sequences topped off with beautiful set pieces and wonderful music. This film is a perfect rental and serves as good popcorn entertainment for a late-night horror film. Expand

It has been a long time since I have seen such a terrible movie. I left the theater feeling like I had been mugged and ten bucks was just ripped from my pocket.

This film is so bad that not even a mother could like it. Amateur production in every sense.

I put off watching this movie for several weeks because of the bad reviews on here, but am glad i finally broke down and rented it. It is a great suspense/survival thriller with good acting throughout....much, much better than I expected. I am thoroughly enjoying it! Sometimes I think full-time movie reviewers watch too many movies for their own good.

Yes it is a bad movie. The underwater photography was done by Wes Skiles. It is worth the price of admission to see only this. If you are a diver and especially a cave diver you will enjoy this movie. Others may want to wait for the DVD.

Not one original bone in its body. Cheezy and inexplicable "let's wrap this up and go home " scene at the end. Cheap shot at a sequal in last scene. Downright awful flick.

Horrid, just horrid. The Cave attempts to rip-off alien at every turn and can not even succeed in doing that. Cole Hauser is simply not a very talented actor. The plot is awful at best and the action is static. This makes movies like Alien vs. Predator look like The Godfather.

Despite the striking underwater photography and production values, much of this feels like Alien: Stalagmite Edition. But if it isn't original, The Cave does demonstrate that you can always elevate threadbare material by keeping your ambitions modest.
  2. A bottomless pit of lame characters, horror-film cliches and improbable monsters.
  3. The writers supply character traits that seem to point toward a pay-off but never reach one. People all end up as tight-lipped, indistinguishable automatons who plummet 50 feet down jagged rocks with scarcely a scratch.
