Overall, it's an interesting experiment, but the idea is stronger than the end result.

Much like watching a straightforward theatrical production of any play hailing from any century: you have to imagine a more detailed world beyond the bare-bones visuals.

Stern's direction is reticent where it should be nervy, and the chemistry-free cast of mostly New York stage actors appears to have been chosen for its discomfort with dialogue such as "Come hither!" and "Get thee from me!" Ye have been warned.

  1. Oops, wrong movie. I already posted the rating so I will just add this change as I cannot find how to delete the entry. Apparently both stunk. I'm talking bad. If Angelina Jolie is in a movie I would think people expect her to be naked. She was nominated, thrown a bone if you ask me, for her breathy method acting. Jeffrey Donovan is unable to do a Southern accent, among others. His acting is sub-par. Although I knew prior to seeing the movie the title "The Changeling" led me to believe it was about aliens. The economy had tanked or was tanking and the real estate plunged so no one wanted to see a depressing movie. If it were not for all the aforementioned...it still would have bombed. Expand
