    With its high-energy music and graffiti-style graphics, The Crash Reel plays like the slick promos NBC uses to repackage every Olympian’s story into a pat narrative.

A major argument can be stated that this could be one of the greatest sports documentaries because it goes beyond the limitations of not only the sport dynamic, but the primary plot line as well, self-aware and respectful of its own history. It also allows the viewer to guide to its own conclusions without being immensely spoonfed; the emotive responses vary from happiness to tears, and never feels forced. If it were not for its inability to chronicle the family *truthfully*, this would be the greatest sports documentary ever. But it is still a riveting chronicle of a life in change. Full Review »
