Horror presented without restraint or apology, as a full-bore, blood-soaked load of nomad nastiness caught in constant forward motion.
Had it exhibited a modicum of restraint, The Forsaken could have been twice as scary.

Chalk it up as a middling B-pic that, with a bit more wit and style, could have been at least a cult item.
Reasonably well-made and all, but it's simply too familiar, too derivative and too inferior to its predecessors to have any reason to exist.
Apart from the fang-restraint of the nosferatu, however, there's precious little that's altogether new or for that matter shocking about this by-the-numbers thriller.
The Forsaken discourages one from caring in the least how its breed of vein-tappers came to be, or even what will happen if they take over the world.
While it's rarely scary, the film is often gory.

A simple cross-country trip turns into a fierce battle for survival when a group of desert vampires set their sights and Sean and his new traveling companion in THE FORSAKEN. THE FORSAKEN borrows generously from films like NEAR DARK and John Carpenter's VAMPIRES, only to come off feeling unoriginal and uninspired. We spend the majority of our time with our hero Sean (Kerr Smith), who spends the entire time worrying about his car and making it to his sister's wedding despite the unholy terrors that are unfolding around him. Johnathon Schaech serves as a decent villain, but his vampire cohorts range from being minor annoyances to complete distractions. Phina Oruche's ungodly performance, in particular, detracts from everything else that is occurring on screen. The action and horror are both bland and predictable, and although the plot introduces some interesting new ideas to the vampire mythos, it frequently contradicts itself. If we are to believe that vampirism is a virus, why would killing the head vampire cure anyone that has been bitten? Overall, THE FORSAKEN is familiar and bloody enough to earn a passing grade for vampire fans.

Realmente después de ver la película, no entiendo como es que se gastaron 15 millones de dólares, es decir su reparto no tiene estrellas aclamadas de Hollywood, talvez en lo que gastaron fueron en la banda sonora de bandas de rock medio conocidas y en las miles de explosiones, es decir todo explota no solo los autos sino también las personas.. perdón los " vampiros".
Para ser una película de vampiros realmente no hay ninguna idea original con respecto a su comportamiento o su estética, es decir pudieron hacer que las muertes ,que son bastantes ,estén mucho mas relacionadas con la temática y no solo que tengas matarles de un balazo en la cabeza en tierra santa.
En conclusión es una pésima película que ni siquiera llega a serie B, con un gran presupuesto, que lo invirtieron en nada provechoso.
