  • Starring: Ashley C. Williams, Ashlynn Yennie, Dieter Laser
  • Summary: During a stopover in Germany in the middle of a carefree roadtrip through Europe, two American girls find themselves alone at night when their car breaks down in the woods. Searching for help at a nearby villa, they are wooed into the clutches of a deranged retired surgeon who explains his mad scientific vision to his captives’ utter horror. They are to be the subjects of his sick lifetime fantasy: to be the first to connect people, one to the next, via their gastric system, and in doing so bring to life 'the human centipede'. 1. Unlike its obvious influence, the 1999 Japanese shocker "Audition," The Human Centipede has no real-world echoes. It's an only-in-the-movies sick goof.

Centipede plays on the notion that the only thing more frightening than death is a state bridging life and death, in which, though one's body is no longer his own to control, the mind remains conscious.

This will not appeal to everyone, whether it will appeal to anyone is another question. With dark humour from time to time, underneath an extremely repulsive concept, this is a relatively conventional horror movie.

Written and directed by Tom Six--who doesn't seem to realize that movie theaters rely on popcorn sales--this nasty stuff plays like a cross between "Saw," "Naked Lunch," and "Bride of the Monster."

  1. Ok, Legit WTF just happened. This movie consumed my soul and made me think deeper to the depths that humans will go to in order to get what they want. What they want I don't know. It appears to be torture porn because this movie was 2 hours of torture porn Expand
  2. Tell you what. If you don't like this then you don't 'get' the whole body-horror genre, and David Cronenberg may as well have made 'Boo!' films like Halloween. Watch the film, which is deliberately minimalist, and imagine yourself in the middle-girl's position. That's why the film works. This is a horror movie which reaches inside you and twists and tugs at your primal fears, not just the fears that occupy your conscious mind. This is true horror, which didn't even need gore to work. This film is more Clive Barker than Steven King, and I can give it no higher praise than that. Expand
  3. This film is a deep epic. It's about the struggle of two prostitutes during a European tour around Germany.. You'd think they'd go to Berlin, or maybe the theaters, perhaps visit the site of the Holocaust. But no, they visit dark scary woods. Long story short, the poor whores become a centipede. The film captures the struggle of these two woman, coping with not just selling their bodies, but also being linked ass to mouth. The worst part of this movie, is the German scientist! How dare an actor try to take this epic, feel good of our generation, into a horror film. I give this movie a 5. Expand

My advice is: do not go and see this movie, it's not worth the 15 bucks. This is not a horror movie, it's just really sick.
