My Friend Convinced me this movie was good, we went to the cinema to see it, I found it boring, unfunny and ultimatley plotless, although he was convinced it was good, he saw it again, I can safely say it has to do with levels of maturity, as my friend is very immature, wheras I am the opposite.

The movie ended. I was laughing. Only because my wife had sat silently through the entire movie, and when the screen finally went dark, sarcastically said "Nice pick honey." Another couple pointed to me saying with amazement "He must have thought it was funny!" I'm not sure how this film could have been any worse.

Good for some laughs, but overall, it is very bad. Good for little kids who like comedy, but other than that, stay away.

There's no sense in flogging a dead horse so let me try to accentuate the positives. The turtle bit is sort of fascinating because it's like Dadaism for dummies. In another scene, we think Carvey is one of the heifers, but surprise; he's actually a patch of grass with turd deposits. And as Robert Shaw, Carvey is indeed the master of disguise for a little while. Those are pretty much the highlights. It's a toss up as to what's worse, the screenplay or the direction. The actors never stand a chance. Most of the time you look closely at the supporting players' for cries of "uncle" in their eyes. Rent "The King of Masks" instead. Expand

I wish I hadn't gone to see this movie. I think I laughed once. The comercials make the movie look good...do not be fooled. Aaron puts it perfectly-- box office poison. I'd much rather go see Goldmember, and not it's sickening doppelganger. Apparently the writers thought a couple fart jokes and a dry plot would do it. Nope.

The girl's hot. The rest of the movie is a snooze. I laughed at the parts I wasn't supposed to laugh at and was silent on the parts I was supposed to laugh.

Would the Master of Disguise please stand up? Not so fast, Dana Carvey. To me, Sony Pictures and Columbia Pictures are the real Masters of Disguise: masterfully disguising this movie as one worth seeing in the trailers. Without a doubt, the promotion team for this movie deserves all the credit for the quasi-success MofD is getting at the box office. The line "Turtle Turtle" should be replaced with "Brutal Brutal." There were some laughs at the beginning of the movie, hence the score of 2. But oddly enough, it is the scene where Carvey is "disguised" as a turtle/man that marks the beginning of the end of the laughs in this movie - and this scene is 20 minutes into the flick! Expand

It sad that the biggest laugh this film got resolved around the villain's unfortunate habit of farting when he laughs. Its sadder that they repeated that one joke EIGHT times.

I think it was pretty stupid and I agree with Mark M. it does have much to do with your maturity. But it gets a solid 2 just beacuse it had one part that gave me a hint of laughter.

People are a little to harsh about this movie ... yes, it's bad, yes, it's stupid, but that's the POINT. It's fun if you want to watch a dumb movie and laugh at the sheer dumbness of it and be amused at the wtf moments. It's stupidly amusing which is part of its appeal I think. Definitely not good for everyone but it's better if you don't take it seriously.

Now I understand why Dana Carvey's career ended. It's more disappointing than funny, because in the end all the funny bits of this movie, which there were few, were nothing but a bunch of fart jokes that a five year old could write. I feel ashamed that I picked out this movie to watch with my family. Don't even get this movie for free, because this movie will make you feel worse off than if you didn't see this movie. Expand

This movie fails to have any direection whatsoever. It is one of those low budget cheapies in which their is one dimension. Maybe this moie could be funny to a group of uncaring 6 year old. A waste of dana carvey's many talents.

Younger audiences probably won't notice the lack of plot, lack of good effects, lack of any pacing, or any action, lack of developed characters, etc. However, anyone over the age of 6 will be dissatisfied with this movie. So why did I give it 3 stars? 3 reasons: 1. It's very short length saves the movie from completely sucking. Any longer and I'd be pulling my hair out. 2. I'll admit. There were some funny moments. Most had to do with Dana Carvey's facial expressions, and others' reactions. 3. The editing. After seeing the DVD, and watching the horrible deleted scenes, I will say that the movie is not nearly as bad as it would have been if these scenes were left in. Expand

Although this movie was pointless and boring, I'm surprised to see it in the "worst-movies-of-all-time-genre" It provided mild entertainment and was reasonably well done. There are certainly worse movies out there, like Waterworld and Biodome.

If this movie had been around 40 years ago, it definitely would have been used by the Viet Cong as a method of torture. All that money wasted in creating this piece of crap. That's agonizing.

This movie is three things: not funny, not entertaining, and not worth your time. I started watching this movie but I turned it off soon after because it was idiotic. I tried again the next day but I had to turn it off again because it became too idiotic. Don't watch this movie.

I remember watching this back when I was 8 or 9 when it first came out and I loved it, and after watching it again after a long time I don't really enjoy it anymore, I only chuckled once or twice, but for most of the movie I was kind of bored, it all seems so poorly put together now, so if you've got a young kid, they will love it as most of the humor is juvenile (and not exactly vulgar), but older audiences will find the plot stupid and rushed, the main character a idiot who just repeats what every other character just said, and realize how throughout the whole movie they rely on the same jokes used over, and over, and over again, so this one is for the kids, adults can avoid. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen, even though stupid with bad acting, that pretty much is the point. There are plenty of good movies like this, with lines so ridiculous you just have to laugh. The main character(Pistachio) is very funny. The supporting characters, although lame only add to the spot on humor.
Let me warn, there is some possibility of hating, but for I, it's
    hilarious. Expand

This movie is not a cinematic masterpiece. It does not have brilliant writing. It is not the greatest movie you will ever see. It IS, however, a goofy family movie and should be treated as such. There are some humorous moments with some of the disguises that Pistachio uses. Your kids are likely to enjoy it, and you will likely enjoy it with them. Even if you don't have kids, you should still watch it just because it's dumb humor. You won't have to think about it, and it makes a lot of references to popular movies such as Jaws. This is a fun, family movie, and should be treated as such. Expand

I can't see why everybody dislikes this movie. I thought Dana was hilarious at acting in this movie. In fact, I'd pay any amount of money for the turtles guy suit. I thought it was hilarious and I think the impersinations were wonderful. I catch this way better than John Carter.
