Didn't know what to expect from this movie, but was pleasantly surprised. A good B movie.

A fine, well thought out, well acted gem. Absolutely the kind of movie that when you are watching you don't really want to end. Unlike most of the junk that gets produced today, this movie has value not only in breaking new ground for sci fi, but in the quality of the acting and story telling.

I like the fact it has some imagination. It held my interest, although it doesn't always work. It has suspense, a good atmosphere but too often the dialog is awkward. Nice effort.

I was very surprised to see the critic score on this one. Maybe they're all hollywood snobs expecting perfect cinematography? Anyhow, I found this hidden gem late one night on one nof the movie channels and something about it captured my attention. It pulls you in with the mystery and the promise of more, which it delivers in time. It's a slow, gradual story that climaxes as the END, which to me is a good thing. And it's creepy, too....comes out of nowhere and intensifies. I found it to be a solid indie movie. Expand

Sort of an odd movie, but two qualities made it stand out. One, it contained a pretty honest depiction of military operations, and two, it seems to function more as a "commentary" on U.S. involvement in Afghanistan, conceptually, than as an actual sci-fi thriller. Not really a scary or tense movie, but curiously watchable.

  1. This war-horror movie basically plays like "Blair Witch" in Afghanistan.

With a low-budget look, cliched dialogue, a stale plot and so-so acting, this supernatural thriller is unlikely to achieve the phenomenal success of its fabled predecessor.

It plays like a disastrous Sci-Fi Channel castoff, thanks in no small part to Myrick's odd decision to include incessant voice-over narration by Ball, which plays like a really terrible in-character DVD commentary track.
