A modest tale intermittently well told.
  2. As it is, Bustin' Bonaparte is an enjoyable diversion, but with more energy and style it might have been a gem.
  3. This adaptation of South African writer Olive Schreiner's cult novel is too cute by far, sapping emotional resonance from a story that was in its original incarnation apparently far darker.
