  • Summary: It's the score of their lives - if they can pull it off. Five thieves at the top of their game, and the crew is assembling for their biggest job yet. Popie's the muscle and brains, Pepsee's the safecracker. Yenicall climbs walls, Zampano is the strategy man, and Chewingum is the master of disguise. But this new score - it's hot. Maybe too hot. But who can resist the Tear of The Sun: a 318-carat diamond, worth 20 million dollars, and locked away in a casino. The vault is impenetrable, the location covered in cops, and everyone knows there's no honor among thieves - especially not the crew Macao Park, Popie's old partner, has forced their team to work with. As they gear up and stroll into the casino with a plan, skills, and a whole lot of nerve, they quickly learn that avoiding the cops may not be their toughest problem. What's Macao Park's real motive? Who will betray them all? And who will walk away with the diamond? (Well Go USA Entertainment) Expand

The Thieves is less interested in the characters than it is the elaborate stunts and gimmicks.

While the movie's second half feels more consequential - and more impressively action-packed - than its first part, it also loses some of its initial charm and quirk via a protracted, often dizzying descent into a kind of booty-centric game of hot potato.

A dazzling heist film that can't help but come off as duly influenced by Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's trilogy, South Korea's number one box-office champ of all time is never less than clever.

I kind of sort of know who dies toward the end but I have no idea who got away with anything. This is Oceans 12 with guns. A visually stunning movie. If you have to read the subtitles do not bother with popcorn. Collapse

this is going to sound racist but the cast is numerous and many of them look so much alike that the story gets confusing. only watch if you're asian.
