• Starring: Shannon Elizabeth, Tony Shalhoub
  • Summary: A state-of-the-art remake of the classic William Castle horror film about a family that inherits a spectacular old house from an eccentric uncle. There's just one problem: the house seems to have a dangerous agenda all its own. (Warner Bros.)

  1. Although not for the faint of heart, it's a potent -- and very tricky -- treat.

This might be as perfect a new-millennium Halloween creepshow as we can expect.
  3. If only half as much attention had been paid to story and character as to set design, the cast wouldn't be playing second banana to a gut rehab.

Critics schmitics! Great realism and uniquely twisted horrorific bursts of adrenalin accompany this one. Anything with Tony Shalhoub is worth viewing. And Shannon Elizabeth is icing on the cake! Expand

Ok the special effects were great but apart from the token comedy black character and the lame story (the concept was great but it got silly after a while) the actual facts are wildly inaccurate...for one no ghost can physically harm a human being, they can scare you and make you think they can (nightmares, visions etc) but they cannot do physical harm as shown in many movies including this one...this movie is just going to spawn a whole new generation of 'devil worshipping' goths with the newe arcana of the tarot made for this movie....i was sorely disappointed after all the hype.
