A heartfelt tribute to both the player and the man.

When a loving son makes a documentary about his father, you can forgive him for laying it on a bit thick - especially when his love for his subject, Ron Santo, is shared by an entire city.

Though at times sentimental, the documentary is a terrific character sketch, capturing both the rough edges and the compassion of its subject.

More a slavish tribute than objective portrait. As a result, competent but innocuous Feature begins to overstay welcome at the 60-minute mark.
  6. Won't be of much value to anyone besides die-hard Cubs fans or the Santo family itself.

Forget about objectivity. No one who has been a Cubs fan for decades (approaching 6 of them in my case) can be objective about this guy. He is the best, and it is time for the spotlight to shine on him and reward him for his excellence on the field as well as his indominitable spirit off the field. Bravo, and Go Cubs, forever. Expand
