  1. At its best, TMNT does recall the slangy fun of the series' glory days. But there are too many moments when it feels as stale as one of Mikey's half-eaten pizzas.

Only those already predisposed to love a TMNT movie that at least LOOKS edgy are likely to care.

This all-CG reboot is missing the goofy excitement of the old TMNT.

The movie is a serviceable way to pass the time: Kids will cheer the bright colors and funny new words ("Kowabunga!").

Silly, but an enjoyable, well-paced fantasy-action story.
  6. The turtles themselves may look prettier, but are no smarter; torn irreparably from their countercultural roots, our superheroes on the half shell have been firmly co-opted by the industry their creators once sought to spoof.
  7. It's all probably too slippery for the youngest viewers to grasp and too sketchy for the nostalgia crowd (for whom this revival seems most geared).

Mikey was as funny as ever and Splinter got in a few jokes (classic!) and this movie served its purpose well. It is meant to be an hour and a half of entertainment for all ages with not a lot of thinking involved. What's even better is that April and Splinter got in on the butt kicking action. I think that the critics have it wrong once again. This shouldn't be rated as if its trying to be a Oscar contender. Yeah, its not completely classic, but it was still a lot of fun. If you can have a sold out midnight premiere of high school, college age, and adult viewers and get the whol audience laughing--You are in good shape. And this movie did that. This is PG at its best. I'm in for the inevitable sequel! Expand

Critics don't get this movie, who cares if this isn't the Turtles of your youth. Go watch those old shows they are worse than you remember them. This is how they always should have been!!!!
