Who needs Tom Cruise? Kidman is the undisputed star of this black comedy.

Nicole Kidman is the hottest woman I've ever seen!! I can watch this damned movie every day... To say nothing of the awesome black humor element. If you haven't seen it, you're in for a killer treat.

A dud. It's a TV movie of the week with a big budget, big stars and larger sets.

Nicole Kidman is absolutely magnetic in this film, and Joaquin Phoenix shines as well.

This is a very fun movie with some really funny moments and amazing performances by everyone, especially Kidman.

A hilarious movie. Being from New Hampshire and living through the Pamela Smart trial, this film was a delightful release. It captures the lifestyle of the state and it's class structure in an amazingly accurate way. Remeber, this film was pre-OJ trial!

Nicole Kidman gives a performance that explains why we have Oscars.

A mystery film in the way that it mysteriously fails to shock, fails to haunt, fails to linger, and fails to make one think or feel anything other than a slight flutter for Ms. Kidman.

Kidman crafts a characterization of breathtakingly controlled artifice, dead-on timing, dizzyingly precise humor. Her part is a knockout--in every sense of the word. [6 Oct 1995]

Delivers continuous pinpricks of irreverent humor and subversive cultural commentary.
  3. The murder plot is a cheap turn that says nothing about the nature of Suzanne's ambition. Without Suzanne's media-obsession as its focus, To Die For becomes just another fairly good black comedy.
