David Schwimmer has made one of the year's best films: Powerfully emotional, yes, but also very perceptive.
A diabolically well-made film about a 14-year-old girl who's raped by a pedophile who grooms her with online chats and sexts.

What Trust conveys, at its best, is that ultimately parental protections are not fullproof, and that is the greatest horror of all.
The mantle of social relevance can be a heavy one, but Trust, a smooth drama about a girl's seduction and rape by a middle-aged Internet predator, is neither preachy nor hysterically overreaching.
His (Schwimmer) film deserves some attention for the remarkable performance from Liana Liberato as Annie.
With a little tweaking, this easily could have veered into grindhouse exploitation or mindless wish-fulfillment, but Schwimmer's detached, theatrical approach to his material makes it is more cerebral than visceral, and more Steppenwolf Theatre than Charles Bronson.
Schwimmer is so committed to telling grim truths about modern living (whither goes humanity in the age of Twitter and sexting?!?) that he abandons the film's tantalizing slide into B-movie exploitation.
Trust tells the story of the Cameron family and their ordeal through the toughest point in their lives. On her 14th birthday the middle child Annie receives a laptop as a gift from her mother and father. After using several online chatrooms her and a 14 year old boy named Charlie begin to grow fond of each other, after agreeing to meet up with Charlie at the local mall Annie learns that Charlie is actually a middle aged man. Charlie takes Annie to a motel and asks her to model some underwear and then **** her. After a worried friend of Annie alerts the authorities to what happened in that motel room the Cameron family slowly begins to fall apart with a depressed Annie in the middle of it all.
Trust is a heart-wrenching drama that is extremely well written, preformed and directed, a film that all young people should watch and an absolutely astounding film in its own right.

An incredible movie which was grossly underrated. A very sensitive topic dealt with extremely honestly. Comments from other viewers, describing the movie as 'lacking suspense' and 'boring' and painful to read as the movie is so much the opposite. The ending is very honest and so much closer to people's real emotions in a trauma such as this than most films would ever dare to show.

The Internet is real. Internet feel real while we're in them. It's only when we f*ck up that we realize something was actually strange. Maybe it's not great movie, must be little more edgy on acting and ending but it's really has strong message.

Its a good subject to tackle and it would be a good educational movie for young kids but in the end it comes across as quite boring. It lacked something, maybe suspense or something. Some parts didn't play out so well and falls flat at the end. No where near its metacritic score.

The worst movie I've never seen, so trash. Can we make a good movie about that, yes. Please redo this one and try to make a better.
