The impalement is a nice touch. The death by wood chipper, pretty sweet. But the best bit of comedy in the ridiculously gory Tucker and Dale vs. Evil eviscerates the field of psychology with no bloodshed at all.
The film plays by genre rules - explicit gore included - even as it turns them on their severed head.

.Very funny, gory, with heart
Really entertaining twist on 'teens in the woods' horror flicks. Lots of laughs and buckets of blood. The actors playing Tucker and Dale are very compelling and believable. Their charm really makes the film and you care about their story.
The movie is basically a farce or a comedy of errors with each error resulting in a gruesome death. While the manner of the deaths is so over the top as to be funny, the biggest laughs come from the dialog. "Tucker and Dale vs Evil" excels at both physical comedy (the chainsaw scene for example) and verbal (explaining the situation to the police).
Great movie..
This film had a tremendous audience reaction at the Seattle International Film Festival. There's a laugh every minute.

A fantastic, hilarious, charming, and quirky take on all the horror movie tropes we've grown up knowing!. This movie is crudely funny poking fun at horror movie cliches and entertaining performances from the main character duo. A whimsical blend of both horror and comedy, this movie is great for any horror fan who wants something new and fresh and original.

It's fun, and it's funny, and -- the best part -- it comes carrying a "yeehaw"-inducing sense of a treasure found.
For anyone frustrated with countless formulaic exercises that drain modern horror of fresh ideas, Tucker & Dale is a downright cathartic indictment that encourages comparison to the "Scary Movie" franchise. It's mostly a smart spoof that looks awfully dumb for a reason.
Sorta doing for "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"-type slashers what "Shaun of the Dead" did for zombie pics, "T&D" offers good-natured, confidently executed splatstick whose frequent hilarity suffers only from peaking too early.
While it's not quite enough to fuel a whole feature, the premise of Tucker & Dale vs Evil is a slice of meta-genre brilliance.
The "bumpkins are people too" message will certainly please the Appalachian Anti-Defamation League; midnight-movie fans, however, will recognize that this mess misses the mark by a country mile.
Hilariously brilliant! Tucker and Dale does a wonderful job of satiring horror movies while infusing as many comedic scenes as possible. There were so many points in this movie where I was straight up laughing out loud. I wouldn't really call this a Horror Comedy though because there were very few jump scares. It is one of the funniest comedy movies I've seen in a good while.

I understand what other people see in Tucker and Dale vs Evil. I don't find it that funny. I thought the leads in this movie were fine but the movie as a whole is a horror comedy with not enough of either genre. I found this movie so ridiculous and it only got more and more unbelievable as it went. The big problem I have with it is the villain who is so terrible, unfunny and has completely ridiculous motives.
