In an eccentric hotel peopled with odd characters, the brothers dwell quietly. Then a beautiful young woman enters their lives, and for the first time someone sees the brothers' world from the inside. She makes them think of possibilities when they're certain there aren't any. They start to wonder how it would be to feel complete in new ways. (Sony Pictures Classics) Collapse

With its persuasive special effects, gentle pace, and more expressionistic than surreal production design, this serious yet far from ponderous drama is something of a marvel.
