    This is one boring movie. The acting though is great! The directing is very stylish but the writing is pretty bad. Who cares about the whole rape, this movie talks about the same subjects for 110 minutes! Parts are good but most of it isn't. I was really disappointed, and I always have faith in Freeman and Hackman! What a shame.

    Excellent film, difficult end, but very interesting. If you ask, where is the plot, you probably didn't undertsand the film.

    Previous reviewers must not have understood this movie, an understandable shortcoming considering it's complexity. The plot was in depth and the film was basically a character study. The acting was brilliant and the directorial style was excellent. A movie that really makes you think, even after the credits roll.

    This movie is a work of genius!This is a movie that leaves a lasting impression that lasts beyond what you think and quite a movie that will go over many people's,including reviewers, heads.You really have to see the movie twice or more to really appreciate the quality of what this movie is trying to accomplish,and does.There is no movie like this that was ever made,not saying that this is the best movie made,it's not by a long shot but what this movie does it does with flying aces making it a perfect ten by all measures.I might be reviewing this at a much later date(1-6-12) and it was made on 9-22-00 but I just had to review this movie because movies I consider tens need to be reviewed and the word has to be said.Watch the flawless acting,story and this will be in the back of your head throughout all your future movie watching.Like I said,a work of genius,brilliance,intelligence,pure bliss!10… Expand

    Ninety percent of this thriller is absolutely terrific; but the 10 percent that fails is so troubling that it threatens to undermine all that is wonderful in the rest.
