Mar 3, 20126Hands-down the best action scenes in any Jet Li movie ever. Hands-down the goofiest and least believable plot ever (and yes I'm counting Kiss of the Dragon and Once Upon a Time in China and America... they come in 2nd and 3rd :P). The result is quaint and reasonably watchable action-trash.

BabaMar 1, 20079I really liked the story. The fight scenes were brutal and exciting and sometimes disturbing which added to the movie's realism. Overall, I found this movie to be a very enjoyable piece of cinematography.

DanVDec 24, 20065This was not a good movie...the fight scenes were hardly exciting and full of awkward scenes...i constantly squirmed watching the movie as so many scenes were just plain stupid...i really don't understand how ppl can give this movie such a high rating.

[Anonymous]Dec 10, 20058Definitely a strong action movie, and Yuen Mo Ping's work is always welcome. The biggest surprise, though, is the story. It's not totally new, but it's quite well done for this genre, giving the whole film a fresh, even epic feel. THe premise of trying to fit in a new world and leaving the old behind also holds your interest.

MaxSNov 24, 200510One of the best films I've seen recently, with a lovely mix of wonderfully-done action and an excellent storyline that's both substantially different and substantially superior to the average martial arts film.

NoëlSNov 7, 20058I think it's one of these action movies since years. Nice fighting scene's like we know from Jet Lee. And the acting lessons from Jet Lee to show more facial emotions are really paying off.

DaveOct 22, 200510I can't rate this movie high enoigh. Totally unexpected stuff from Jet Li. Combines the best martial arts seen in any Hollywood fllm with brilliant dramatic performances by Jet Li and Morgan Freeman. A rare gem and touching story... this movie is hard to top. I give the movie and story 9/10, but 10/10 for effort.

IsaacMay 17, 20056Awsome fight scenes! The bits in between didn't hold my attention as much as they could have. Kind of cheezy and family-ish. Worth seeing.

MSMay 16, 200510An achievement for Luc Besson. The film is much more than I expected. A brilliant performance by Hoskins, superb fighting choreography, and a story that has significantly more depth than many other action flicks. I wouldn't be surprised if Hoskins gets a nomination for this.

DamionK.May 16, 20056Uh.. I thought it was quite unusual. Sure it has the typical and numerous fight scenes (and in this day and age, it's almost best to not question the implausible in modern films), but sometimes it just wasn't all there. It seemed like it was missing true sentiment and it was a bit simplistic in nature.

NathanG.May 15, 20059Unleashed gets everything right: superbly choreographed and original fight scenes, rich character development -- including Li's Danny, a great role for him -- and a unexpectedly moving story. It was also amusing how the bad guys kept coming back for more punishment!

SarahB.May 11, 20059Kick ass and unique. Go with the flow and you'll have a great time . Far and away Jet Li's best english-language film to date (not that there's been a lot of competition).

JayH.May 11, 200510Similar in pacing to The Professional. Fans of Luc Besson and Jet Li will undoubtedly enjoy this film, one of Jet Li's most rounded performances.

63Li is action poetry in motion. Damn them for spoiling our popcorn fun with salty tear-jerking.

10Cloying dreck.

Bounding out of the gate like a greyhound, Unleashed needs only its first 30 seconds or so to elevate itself well above the average action potboiler.
