Maybe there will be an oversaturation of ''Scream''-inspired horror films someday soon, but this one feels fresh.
  2. It's no worse than any number of other cookie-cutter slasher flicks geared for the slightly post-pubescent market.

Before long, however, the suspense becomes repetitious and predictable. In its denouement, the film breaks faith with its audience, violating credibility in an attempt to deliver a surprise villain.

The film is competently made, and the attractive cast emotes and screams energetically.
  5. 42
    Proficiently filmed and utterly uninspired.
  6. 30
Spottily directed and lacking the dubious merits of even the Friday the 13th franchise, this is one slasher film that should die a quick and lonely box-office death.
  7. 20
Urban Legend has an undeniably clever premise, which plays on a sort of cultural mythology shared by the filmmakers and the ostensibly media-savvy audience, but it fails to do anything interesting with it.

Urban Legend followed the success of Scream and the movie is a fun horror ride as well. The actors
are well cast, there are decent scares and
a clever plot. The movie was made for horror fans and nothing
in the movie feels hokey or copied.

A great movie that any horror lover can miss.

Kids at University start getting bumped off, killings are like "Urban Legends", kids investigate, it would have worked if it hadn't been for you meddling kids.
Live action Scooby Doo episode but the cartoon had better story lines. Usual cliched teen horror that came out after Scream in the late 90s that doesn't offer anything new or original.
Saying that, I did get the killer wrong.
