Like its precursor, U.S. Marshals has lots of action and the Jones groupies are likeable. Though the overall picture isn't as fine-tuned or character driven, it still delivers what moviegoers want to see - a fast-paced and entertaining chase.
Efficient, uninspired sequel.

If you liked The Fugitive, I don't see how you could hate U.S. Marshals. The original was one of the only movies I've seen that kept me entertained without a single unnecessary explosion. U. S. Marshals takes pretty much everything to the next level. Seeing Wesley Snipes courageously escaping from the cops and leaving the corrupt and menacing Gerard in the ground after his speech is worth the whole thing.

The result is unconvincing and disorganized. Yes, there are some spectacular stunts and slick special effects sequences. Yes, Jones is right on the money, and Snipes makes a sympathetic fugitive. But it's the story that has to pull this train, and its derailment is about as definitive as the train crash in the earlier film.
It isn't so much a bad action movie as a symptom of the greater problem with most action movies: Audiences tire of sitting through the same fitful, unfulfilling formula, no matter how much terse language and gunfire is tossed in.
By the time it winds down, U.S. Marshals has all but destroyed itself. It's gone pffft! in the night.
It's impossible to find an iota of aesthetic worth or an ounce of pleasure in this sludge.
U.S. Marshals is a film that got people interested in watching this, just like me. But what shocked me about this is the fact that this is a sequel to The Fugitive starring Harrison Ford. Tommy lee Jones is at his best in The Fugitive because that's his Oscar winning role as Marshal Sam Gerard. Hey, I just watched the Oscars, I haven't seen the film before but I am interested to go see it. In U.S. Marshals though, Tommy Lee Jones is back as Marshal Sam Gerard along with his team as they go and track down another fugitive called Mark Sheridan, who attempts to escape government officials following an international conspiracy scandal who sets him up. I have to be honest, guys, I really kinda like the plane scene where it crashes with the prisoners and marshals inside. Actually, didn't Executive Decision did that? Yes it did. The chase sequences are enjoyable to watch for those of you are intrigued. From what I've experienced in U.S. Marshals, I actually kind of like it but I haven't even seen The Fugitive and I hope I would be able to watch it cause I've heard it's fantastic.

Une sorte de remake (?) du Fugitif toujours avec l'excellent Tommy Lee Jones à la poursuite non plus d'Harrison Ford mais de Wesley Snipes... On a changé le docteur blanc pour un pauvre Noir apparemment sauf qu'en fait le fugitif n'est pas ce qu'il semble être, n'est pas pauvre ni né de la dernière pluie, car il y a du Statham là-dessous (même s'il n'est pas là).
Il faut dire que le scénario part dans tous les sens et a cru bon d'inclure une histoire de barbouzes à la petite semaine, mêlant le FBI, les Nations Unies (?) et... de vilains Chinois comploteurs. Robert Downey Junior vient épauler l'équipe du grand Tommy, le Marshal de choc toujours sur la brèche et qui distribue comme de coutume une moyenne de 23,6 ordres par minute. Oui, c'est bien le petit Robert, celui qui finira plus **** dans une boîte de conserve repeinte au rouleau.
C'est donc reparti pour le gros accident, l'évasion et la cavale effrénée et le moins qu'on puisse dire, c'est qu'on a pas le temps de s'ennuyer : ça rue dans les brancards sans s'arrêter et Wesley Snipes n'a même pas le temps de profiter de la jolie poulette qu'ils lui ont mis dans les pattes. La réalisation est très correcte si ce n'est parfois un montage cut ici et là...
En tous les cas, on ne cherche pas à comprendre ce qui se passe et on **** le pop-corn, car si le ridicule ne nous tue pas, c'est qu'il nous rend plus fort. Bête et divertissant à la fois, U.S. Machin passe le temps assez vite et on ne lui en demandera pas plus (de toute façon, il peut pas).

A generic action movie, and nothing more. The plot is nothing you haven't seen before, and the 'twist' is trite and predictable. Of special note is the direction, which is particularly bad; often the camera will not-too-subtly zoom in on important plot-points. There is also a cheesy overuse of slow-motion, within-film flashbacks and a score so bland you barely notice it; leading to underwhelming action sequences and a lack of tension. Characters lack substance and seem to be merely plot devices rather than people. Give it a look if you enjoyed its prequel, The Fugitive. If not, then you will not be missing anything by skipping over this film.
