    Generally pleasant family-friendly fare.

Pretty painless by kiddie movie standards.
  3. Unable to decide whether it wants to be a rambunctious family comedy or a tender romantic comedy, the Dennis Quaid-Rene Russo vehicle strains to be both and ends up falling short of both marks.

The remake seems to have been written and directed by people whose only experience with children is the long-distant memory of having been kids themselves so many years ago.

The movie equivalent of a box of generic macaroni and cheese: bland, easily digested, comforting, forgettable.
  6. The movie, directed with a gym teacher's whistle by "Scooby-Doo's" Raja Gosnell, is a contempo soft-focus remake of the 1968 original starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda.
  7. Quaid and Russo outshine the script with their presence and chemistry alone.

    Likable (if not especially funny).
  9. So snug, airtight and insulated from reality that the nice, well-scrubbed "Cheaper by the Dozen" seems almost rambunctious by comparison.
  10. The storyline is so familiar ("Cheaper by the Dozen," et al), the audience can practically call out scenes ahead of time.
  11. The best thing that can be said about this Yours, Mine and Ours is that it's inoffensive.

Amazing – a movie that somehow manages to be both irritatingly familiar and instantly forgettable.
  13. Synthetic, strained and noisy, Yours, Mine & Ours is a clinker that doesn't bear comparison with the original. Quaid, Russo and others deserve better.
  14. 38
There's not a moment in this story arc that is not predictable.
  15. Even as slapstick, it's a major snoozefest.
  16. The humor is supposed to stem from the clash of kids who have been raised so differently and of partners with opposing views of child care. But there are just so many jokes you can make about who gets to use the bathroom when.

Rip Torn, Linda Hunt and Jerry O'Connell mark time in minor supporting roles.
  18. The kind of film that will be suitable for all-ages entertainment once the family runs out of conversation after devouring all the turkey, but it's unlikely to expand its audience beyond these captives.

    Shrill family comedy.

    Witless, terminally irritating remake.

This wretched remake was helmed by Raja Gosnell, perpetrator of the live-action "Scooby-Doo" movies. I'm partial to Quaid and Russo, but there are limits.

As an artsy but minimally bohemian type, Russo maintains her dignity, an extraordinary accomplishment.

Absolutely unfunny and downright awful. The leads should take a long break from films. The director should take a pay cut.
  2. It has only few laughs and the whole story here is absolute mess, even if the plot knows where its going. Kinda lame for a family movie. Its just a Cheaper by the Dozen rip-off. Full Review »
  3. A good movie but nothing we haven't seen before, it can be downright hilarious at times, but the acting is pretty bad, and the story is predictable, but if your looking for a laugh look no further. Full Review »
