  • Summary: Andrew Broder's third Fog album reprises the song "Hummer" from a recent EP of the same name, and adds 12 new tracks. It's both more vocal-oriented and (at times) more electronic than earlier efforts.

Imagine cLOUDDEAD jamming with Wilco, with David Lynch producing, and you're only halfway there. [#257, p.70]
  2. Urb

    A wonderful, fascinating record. [May 2005, p.85]
  3. Easily the most adventurous work in the Fog catalog yet.
  4. Occasionally, you might wish for a more generous-sounding lead vocal or concise song structure, but 10th Avenue Freakout is populated with stimulating, rather than easily accessible, music.
  5. Where there was previously a plethora of cuts, glitches, and turntable sounds, there are now indie pop hooks with an underlying aesthetic of experimentation.
  6. Q Magazine
    70
When it all gels, you can forgive the occasional bout of navel-gazing self-indulgence. [Jun 2005, p.120]
  7. The musical missteps wouldn’t be so bad if Broder’s voice didn’t often betray him.
