    He does a great job at incorporating the 80's and 90's vibes. Also his vocals sound better than ever. I recommend this for people who loves Throwback R&B.

    Bruno Mars is finally back after about 4 years with his new album. People who complain that 9 songs are not good enough for a 4-year break need to not let that affect their opinion of the album. He took a break cause he was successful and could afford to do so, he definitely didn't spend 4 years making this album. Anyway, this is album is one of Bruno's best, I think it is better than 2012's Unorthodox Jukebox and just as good if not better than his debut album. Bruno goes for an 80's dance theme on this album and makes some great songs. The lead single 24k Magic is a feel-good song that is just irresistible. Chunky and Perm are also these upbeat and fun songs that I think are very good. That's What I Like is another great song which is a little more modern. Versace On The Floor is a great ballad-like slow song that shows off the strong voice that Bruno Mars and is one of his better slower songs he has ever sung although I don't like the lyrics to the song as much as some of his older slower songs like Just the Way You Are and Grenade. The first half of this album was so great and had me thinking this album was going to be a 8 or 9 , however, the last 4 songs on this album are just not as good. Straight Up & Down is probably the worst song on the album. Calling All My Lovelies is an easily forgotten song with nothing really going for it. Finesse is the best song on the second half of this album with a nice percussive instrumental but I don't think it's as good as any of the songs from the first half of the album. Too Good to Say Goodbye isn't good or bad it just is kind of there and doesn't end the album off as well as I would have liked.

    This album is pretty good and would have been one of my favorite albums of the year if the whole album was like the first half.

    This album is just awesome, mixes new jack swing and funk in a beautiful way on tracks like "chunky" or "finesse", and it goes on old-school R&B in songs like "Versace on the floor" and "too good to say goodbye". this is just awestome, very good work

    I am a big fan of Bruno, and feeling really delighted and happy about this album, met my expectations for sure, all the energy and music themes are great, catchy and just straight wanna dance! Love it foe sure, good album!

    great production...and great hooks! some of the lyrics may be a little cheesy and some work...but the energy is undeniably infectious! nothing new under the sun and bruno doesn't do anything innovative in terms of music genres but he does make the best of what it can be! concerts performing these songs will be lit! only real huge flaw is the amount of songs...could have gone for at leastgreat production...and great hooks! some of the lyrics may be a little cheesy and some work...but the energy is undeniably infectious! nothing new under the sun and bruno doesn't do anything innovative in terms of music genres but he does make the best of what it can be! concerts performing these songs will be lit! only real huge flaw is the amount of songs...could have gone for at least 3 more...would have made it all worth it!… Expand

Perfectly resembling the Soul, the R&B, and even the New Jack Swing of the 80s and 90s with a great and delightful production by Shampoo Press & Curl. Bruno has done a twist on his career and the result is wondeful. Inspirations are noticeable: Babyface, Michael Jackson, JamesI am very surprised!     What I appreciate about bruno is him doing what he loves without bothering about what's trendy right now on the Radio and the charts, this album will sound even better live and Bruno will have the time of his life performing these songs on the stage, good job bruno.

    This is the first time I enjoyed an album by Bruno Mars, there isn't a song that I don't like. I hear influences from so many artists on this album, a masterpiece!

    A great effort from Bruno. Lots of 80s/90s nostalgia thrown in here, really loving it. 24K Magic is so funky and catchy and some nice Michael Jackson vibes from Versace On The Floor. 10/10

There have been countless times where an artist releases promotional singles and I really enjoy them, but when the body of work itself arrives I find myself wanting more. Our third full-length offering in the Bruno Mars catalog, this could have been a pop music masterpiece or a cheesy capitalization off the wildly successful "Uptown Funk". Soulful and smooth with gigantic doses of swagger injected into the lining of almost every track, Bruno completely delivered. Pop music today often sounds commercialized and repetitive which makes this album all the more special. While I've never cared much for the billionaire mogul with all the women gimmick that Bruno has exuded in recent years, it not something that turns me off from the music. None of the lyrical content here will have you doing anything more than forming a posse with your co-workers and possibly investing in a pinky ring. What it lacks in lyrical content though, it makes up for with production. Tracks like "Chunky" and "Finesse" ooze funky synths while "Versace On The Floor" and "Too Good To Say Goodbye" help highlight the immense vocal talent that Mars possesses. 24K Magic represents quintessential pop music in 2016 and provides a fresh and timeless alternative to most of the content on Top 40 today. Ultimately, it's downfall is the lack of content it contains. A nine song track list clocking in at a little over 33 minutes, you sometimes feel as if you're listening to an unfinished product. By the time you settle in to the groove of the album, it's coming to an end. This personally wouldn't be such an issue if the lyrical content had more to offer. While some tracks do tend to sound a bit similar, each has something distinct that separates them from one another. Overall, the album is nothing that will blow your socks off. It's not an album we'll be writing about for years and it's certainly not an album that is going to innovate pop music as we know it. That said, it's representative of what pop music can and should be. Well composed musical content that doesn't exactly have to send a meaningful message, but instead allows you to forget about the daily struggles we as humans face. Sometimes we all just need a night where we feel like we're the coolest person in the world. If this album provides you with that fantasy, then it's done it's job.… Expand

    A little bit disappointed at very first but getting better each day. The previous 2 albums was much better with the sound, catchy and more uptown. I can't see any song from this album would do such great masterpiece like 'When I Was Your Man' or 'Grenade'. Anyway, thanks for the come back.

    Bruno Mars is one of the few artists who refuses to adapt to fashion and thanks to that he creates his own style and creates his own fashion. For that reason and much more is one of the most respected artists in the music industry.

    His best album so far I really love and enjoy this project. 0 skips n very well production. Lyrics aren't made for everyone but I loved EM too. Deserved all those Grammys and pop girlies fans gonna cry more for Melodrama

Some would call this albumIn 2016, many artists have tried to reinvigorate the sounds of a past era, however none have been able to craft this sound as well as Bruno Mars has done here. Taking heavy influence from popular RnB acts from the eighties and nineties, as well as James Brown, Bruno has released a project destined to please anyone who grew up with and enjoys that era of music. Some would call this album derivative, but in a market saturated by generic bland pop songs, I find the sound of this record really refreshing. This is a really fun album that has lots to like such as the lively instrumentals and the infectiously catchy hooks, with Bruno's laid back, charismatic personality shining through on every track. This man even resurrected New Jack Swing! something I dreamed of but never thought would actually happen. Although, my only real critique being at only 9 songs, you would expect every song to be a straight home run, which unfortunately doesn't quite happen here, with songs such as 'Too Good to Say Goodbye' and 'Chunky' not quite hitting the mark for me. That said, I found this album a really strong piece of musical nostalgia, with really enjoyable choruses (essential for a pop album) and instrumentals. Perfect music to play at a BBQ with the family imo. 8/10.… Expand

    Bruno Mars put some of his older inspirations aside, and decided to take the "Uptown Funk" footprint, and built a solid album with the same lead. Success.

    Sure, Mars is one of those artists who study hard before making a record. Deserving honorable mention, the artist's disc contains 9 tracks, as well as the famous vinyl LP's. Excellent balcony.

    The album from 2015-16, is lightly a trip to the world in the 70's, 80's and even 90's. Hot, romanticized, and a little ostentatious ballads make 24K Magic an intelligent and well-constructed masterpiece by Bruno Mars.

    The "balconies" of Mars in 24K Magic were well made, studied, and cautiously crafted. The artist does not abandon, but focuses on other genres on the disc of 2016, which sounded perfectly with his style.

    The 24K Magic is much more R & B than any other Mars work, its Soul moments also get highlights, and although Mars manages to stumble in a few moments, it follows with a very solid and well built disc.    … Expand

    The result is a collection of fantastically produced pop    Easily one of the best pop albums of the year so far; this thing came out three days ago and I've had it on replay since. Mars essentially takes the groove & vibe that he found on the Uptown Funk collaboration with Mark Ronson, and expands on it throughout the 9 tracks on the album, in both slower paced songs & fast paced songs.

    The result is a collection of fantastically produced pop music, filled with personality & charisma, with immense replay value.

    The songwriting on this thing is tight; I've seen multiple reviews citing the lyrics as being awful and cheesy, and congrats, that's the point; the old (whiny) Bruno Mars from songs such as Grenade, Just The Way You Are & Young Girls is gone here, and he instead embraces this Moris Day inspired-bravado, and it works tremendously in his favor.

    The lead single (24k Magic) is essentially a great indicator of the album as a whole; if you don't like this single, you probably won't like this record.

    For older fans, don't go into this thing expecting Doo Wops Bruno, because you're not going to get that here. What you will get however, is a Bruno Mars that has relaxed, and learned to have way more fun.    … Expand

    I love Finesse, and chunky. It is one of the best albums of 2016, and i appreciate how is him doing what he loves and giving us that special album.

    It appears with this album he has taken a more fly approach. Not only that, it seems each song of the album has had some influence from his peers and icons, of whom he had listened to growing up. I respect that. It’s actually nice to see someone doing something different and taking risks, by doing something that has already been done before, but not very recently. Will people love it as much as they did back then? Well, it’s a question today that the answer isn’t so definite as it would have been back then, what with the music world changing, technology and society with it ever so dramatically, but I still think the answer is yes.
    What seems very coincidental about this album is that, it has a very nostalgic feel to it. The sounds and vibes have been heard before, by those who made them as iconic as they are today, like James Brown, Luther Vandross and Michael Jackson to name a few. Although all three have unfortunately passed, it’s still magical to hear those sounds, and those vibes, those similarities still being used today. In a world full of The Chainsmokers’ and Martin Garrix’s, Bruno seems to be showing where the real magic of music really is, and that’s how I perceive this album to be. I believe the album is called ‘24K Magic’because of the magic of the influences that those iconic artists left, and it’s a kind reminder to millions around the world where the real music lies, and not to forget those who pathed the way for so many successful artists in the passing years, and many to come.

    In terms of the album, it’s incredible. It’s catchy, it’s nostalgic, it’s witty, it’s funny. Most importantly it tells a story through the sounds of music royalty. It’s an album definitely worth listening to that’s for sure.    … Expand

His slower songs don't feel like interruptions are last minute add-ins; they mesh smoothly with his dance tunes and compliment them.     What a great album. Bruno has a knack of revisiting old music that's funky and groovy and great. I can't believe people are petty and still pissed when this album won, when literally it's just pure joy to behold.

    Un álbum muy prometedor, con tracks muy buenos, el concepto del álbum muy atinado, algunas canciones con ritmos muy repetitivos.

    That's when Bruno had my heart! I love this album from Top to bottom! Every track has it's own personality and vibe. They boring me to special times.

    I think it is a really underrated album, it was great, have good songs and a good mix, all of the instruments are sounding great and Bruno´s voice couldn´t get better, of course it have mistakes, but overall is a good album.
