  1. There's no doubt that Betke hasn't lost his finesse in creating tracks, but after such a long hiatus, this EP is a little lacking in the excitement department.
  2. Pole’s familiar synth-hissing static has been removed but a chilled atmosphere remains, successfully transforming this release into four club-friendly tracks that will leave you feeling warmer than a glass of red wine.
  3. Entertainment Weekly
    100
Betke masterfully manipulates space and echo. [25 Apr 2003, p.151]
  4. Betke's more minimal application of sound has opened up acres of sonic real estate between the beats.
  5. This is an interesting first step into new territory, a statement of intent.
  6. The entropic quality of the ‘yellow’ Pole has undergone a ‘rehab’ of sorts, resulting in a cleaner and reinvigorated sound.
  7. The Wire
    70
The feel... is more relaxed, more organic, more approachable. [#230, p.69]
  8. Uncut
    80
Skewed hip hop soundscapes with hints of slinky R&B that could even be described as DJ-friendly. [Jul 2003, p.124]
