  1. Lohan's (admittedly studio-sheened) brand of pop darkness reads realer than Ashlee Simpson's. [9 Dec 2005, p.85]
  2. Ultimately, like her manufactured pop rivals Ashlee Simpson and Hilary Duff, Lindsay is a little too superficial to sell us angst.
  3. While this makes for an album that's substantially more interesting and cohesive than the gaudy Speak, it doesn't necessarily mean that A Little More Personal (Raw) is a successful record, either.
  4. Has she grown up? Maybe not entirely yet, but Lohan is showing the promise of an honorable mainstream career.
  5. Ms. Lohan has staked out a patch of musical ground between Kelly Clarkson and the Foo Fighters, and she can snarl a little without laying it on too thick. [5 Dec 2005]
  6. RAW is considerably more consistent than its predecessor, and it's not a bad listen by any means, but for all the so-called weighty subject matter, there's not much meat on these bones.
  7. The album de-emphasizes the (very) guilty pop pleasures of her 2004 debut in favor of leaden I-hate-you-Daddy laments.
  8. For most of the album, she sounds like any other self-absorbed teen, yearning to be Alanis, Gwen and even Stevie Nicks. [6 Dec 2005]
  9. The red flags run rampant in this album, which has all the personality of HAL 9000.

  1. Lohan is actually very excellent on this album. This record is a mature side of Lohan that leaves the teen-pop sounds of "Speak" behind. On this record Lohan really shows off her raspy/strong vocals and she also co-wrote most of the tracks. I would deffinitely recommend it. Full Review »
  2. I got me away to the spirit of fan, but this is a really good pop-rock album, one of those guys that gets in your head weeks, the songs are catchy as Fastlane that has an incredible letter, or even Who Loves you, the closest to a commercial pop, or the Hollywood clichés found in Confessions of a Broken Heart and My Innocence, overall, the album resembles a jumble of Ashlee Simpson Avril Lavigne with a result that was simply wonderful. It's incredible how good she is. "I Want You to Want Me" is a really well-done cover of an evergreen classic. Songs such as "My Innocence" and "Black Hole" show off her amazing voice, too. Full Review »
