  1. The most amazing thing about A People's History is the diverse styles represented throughout.
  2. The sound differs, but the feel of The Dismemberment Plan bleeds through.
  3. By turns thrilling, gratifying, and hideous.

Perhaps the strangest and most successful finale ever. [Nov 2003, p.116]
  5. Some of these remixes are truly excellent, and some of them are disastrous.
  6. More a novelty than an essential addition to the Dismemberment Plan legacy.

Unfortunately, many of these mixes were submitted either by talented fans or lesser known professionals, and often they’ve removed much more than they’ve put in.

    Complete hit-or-miss studio play. [#8, p.104]
  9. By forsaking professionals for amateurs, the Plan has narrowed the scope of their artistic vision; for every stunning reworking, like Deadverse's "Automatic", there's a stinker like ASCDI's predictably bland mix of "Time Bomb" or Cynyc's blasé beat-slapping "Following Through".
  10. It's unlikely that you'll want to hear any of these remixes, even the better ones, more than once or twice.
