  • Summary: A best-of collection from the band led by singer Shirley Manson.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 7 out of 12
  2. Negative: 0 out of 12
  1. The sequencing is what makes this disc such a divine pleasure: we get to hear a band grow from grinning upstarts to tension-battered road warriors.
  2. 'Tell Me Where It Hurts' is an undeniable sign that, despite their extended hiatuses and internal turmoil, Garbage is very much alive with ideas and ambition.
  3. It's a deserved retrospective, and serves a reminder of how, in the mid 1990s, the band had album buyers eating out of the palms of their hands.
  4. The chronological running order of Absolute Garbage is also unfortunate as it renders the CD impotent halfway through.

This collection is Rock Star all the way. The new track only cements how great this band always was & hopefully always will be. I Love This Band!

They've lost a little momentum from their mid-90s heyday, but they're still a great group, and there are a few songs from their more recent albums I'd have liked to see make the cut (Parade and Can't Cry These Tears, to name a couple). Overall a great collection from a great band. Expand

It's hard to say this... but I agree with Pitchfork. I love their first two records, so the first half of this album is great. But the second half is REALLY absolute garbage. (and well, the remix cd is for fans only) Expand

An aptly named album for an aptly named band. I've never gotten this band, although I must admit their lead singer is at least got her name right. She sounds like Shirley Temple channeling Charles Manson. Expand
