Adiós I’m a Ghost manages to retain its humanity and emotional center even in the most blistering of numbers.

Adiós I'm a Ghost falls somewhere between the band's critically lauded sophomore release Tidelands, which was full of thoughtful atmospherics, and the looser, rowdier debut album Don't Be a Stranger.

These strummy rockers, highlighted by the group’s established three-part harmonies, are some of the most incisive and powerful in their catalog. Those who acquire music one track at a time need to rethink their position here since these songs weave together to form a tapestry that works as a beautifully constructed unified whole.

The Moondoggies' third album is a perfect distillation of what this band should be. [Aug-Sep 2013, p.102]

It seems a bit piecemeal, unaware of its own strengths. But those strengths, represented in the album’s best tracks, give the Moondoggies an easy edge over upstart ubran-rustic folk-rock acts such as Treetop Flyers.

Nothing on Adios, I’m a Ghost offends, and in fact it’s often pretty good. But it doesn’t leave much of a lasting impression, either.
