I bought Amaryllis with low expectations after listening to "Bully" and not being impressed in the slightest with Shinedown's cliched lyrics melodies, but being a fan of their earlier stuff I decided to give Amaryllis a shot. Even my low expectations were not met. The entire album is one boring, mainstream song after another, and did not at all grab my attention. Even with this change of tone, the album is still classic Shinedown, and though this kind of triumphant mood will probably disappoint fans looking for something to cut loose and pump their fists to.

If it ain't broke, why fix it? And the results speak for themselves. [Apr 2012, p.108]
