The first half of the album is fantastic, but it slowly loses pace after that. Very repetitive lyrics and what not. But it truly is a breath of fresh air to the overproduced indie bands of today. Simply guitars, bass, drums, and a damn menacing vocal. I like it!

    I think it deserves a 7/10.

There's a subtle power in the moments where the intensity backs off to just gentle, wordless strums, and the Snakeheads work well at maintaining a balance on their debut album before slamming all the doors and backing you into a corner of the club.

It makes a skeptical, new listener wonder if they spent themselves creatively, shoving too much onto one album when they could have honed in more closely on a few clear ideas.

There are a handful of moments here when he turns himself inside-out over the course of a song, bringing him into the orbit of those artists he so obviously idolizes. Now he just needs to figure out how to emulate his starting position.
