Mike Scot brought Yeats poetry to those who might not have been acquainted with it otherwise. But more than that, to those who love and appreciate Yeats, this album allows another angle to enjoy it, the music fits the lyrics remarkably adding and understanding its deeper meanings.

While these are thrillingly alive with Scott's undaunted belief in rock's majestic possibilities, he reminds himself to have fun as well. [Oct 2011, p.105]

All 14 tracks here use Yeats's verse, and while it's a natural fit, occasionally, as on The Song Of Wandering Aengus, Scott's over-enunciation can overwhelm. [Oct 2011, p.130]
