The Onion (A.V. Club)
The Reminder sounds best on headphones, since its rich room tone and casual instrumental interplay is essential to the experience.

Enough variety is here, and it all fits together as beautifully as Let It Die did.
The Reminder is an exceptional album that should be experienced solely on the merits its stunning musicality.
Unassuming, unpretentious and totally listenable too, this is thirteen songs and fifty minutes that might just make her famous.
Read Full Review >The New York Times
“The Reminder” is a modestly scaled but quietly profound pop gem: sometimes intimate, sometimes exuberant, filled with love songs and hints of mystery. [15 Apr 2007]

Listening to this thing is like watching a pitcher throw a no-hitter.
Whereas her last album's smoothed-out eclecticism could be both daunting and empty, The Reminder is equally diverse yet more full-blooded.
She continues to extend a thoughtful arm, whittling intricacy into something poignant and manageable.

A fantastically colorful and original effort. [5 May 2007]
Hartford Courant
It's a deliberate album that never sounds over-thought, and it's moving without even a hint of cliché.
Quieter and more uniform in sound than the wilfully eclectic Let It Die, the new album emphasizes her sumptuous vocals and ear for a handsome melody. [May 2007, p.85]
Dot Music
An elemental tour-de-force, "The Reminder" could be her Eureka record - an album where almost everything turns to gold.

[The] sense of playful adventure ensures that smooth needn't mean snoozy. [Jun 2007, p.108]
Uncut
It's a darker, deeper affair. [Jun 2007, p.94]
cokemachineglow
The Reminder may not surprise, but it does force one to ignore the cloying marketed image and just love Feist for the talented individual that she is.
Though jangly uptempo ditties are nothing new for the Canadian singer-songwriter, it's these kinds of songs, seemingly constructed for radio play, that mar the otherwise radiant Reminder.

An atmospheric and sophisticated album from a promising songwriter. [May 2007, p.93]
Under The Radar
Although it stumbles here and there... it's also littered with the proof that few artists are as adept at crafting such smart, intimate pop and from such a bevy of sources. [#17, p.84]
The Guardian
While nothing here is wholly original, it is a pleasure for as long as it plays.

Even the most melancholy moments... have airy jazz arrangements that let them breathe.
In the end, The Reminder is by no means a bad album, but it certainly could have used a bit more trimming and a little less of a focus on the soft pop side of things.
"The Reminder" features Feist free from the polished confines of her previous effort. Instead, she opts for a more organic approach punctuated by subtle electronic elements, soulful vocal harmonies, and glam-rock guitar riffs.
Just because something “sounds” like a classic record, it doesn’t mean it is.
Replace the sleepy stuff with more songs like "My Moon," and The Reminder would have been killer. [3 May 2007, p.147]
Stylus Magazine
The Reminder is rarely exciting or thrilling, and never revolutionary.

Surprisingly conventional. [May 2007, p.124]

Tony R gave it a10:
its pop minus the bubble gum and the nasty flavor you get after chewing on it for hours this album from the first few seconds to end is so good and this alone gives light for future music in the mainstream which honestly is dead…RIP…mtv, mtv2, imf, fuse and whatever bull they try and make haha.
Ted R. gave it a9:
Leslie is a refreshing change from the anger filled, hate rap and "clip, clop". A sweet, seductive sound of innocence and real music. She her and her band have my attention and my heart!
Jeff K. gave it a10:
Awesome!
Ethan H gave it a10:
One of the best albums of all time - a surprisingly mature, flowing piece from an already established artist, the Reminder is set to become a classic. Absolutely gorgeous.
Tim E. gave it an8:
Let me first state that I do not own this album simply because I can hear practically every song on this album being played on the trendiest commercials on TV. Sounds great though.
Robbie C. gave it a10:
One of the best albums since the turn of the century! Like her last record, this one starts out quietly, and most of the songs seem unadventurous. But unlike her last album, this is a totally current sound and a very original and honest record. Her voice is like honey, her melodies are heart-breaking and her energy is intense, confident and compelling. A+!
Fabio L gave it a7:
Very good album. Though there were some songs I could definitely live without hearing once more (esp. "The Park").
