Tom H. gave it a10:
Anyone who gives this under a 7 is musically ignorant. Matchbox Twenty don't pretend to be an atmospherically intense dramatic emotional band, they make music for people to enjoy. That's the whole point and no-one does it better. Albums don't get nominated for album of the year at the Grammys for nothing.
Rob C. gave it a7:
This is their best album, thay have honest lyrics.
Carol B. gave it a9:
Excellent effort by the Matchbox guys. Every song is good or great. Not one that I dislike. Especially love Bright Lights, Hand Me Down and Cold. These guys can write good music that speaks to a wide range of people. And Rob Thomas' vocals are amazing! I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Craig F. gave it a0:
MATCHBOX TWENTY are hopelessly mediocre. Pablum.
Tim gave it a10:
Great CD. Lots of great songs and there isn't a single song that I dislike.
Matt H gave it a 0:
I'm sure this was all a well orchestrated joke, this lavishing of praise on a band so dry and soulless that they might not even exist. Matchbox Twenty (no, I refuse to spell it lowercase: a band this terrible does not get to rewrite the rules of english) embodies everything banal, amelodic, and forgettable in popular music. There isn't anything distinct about their music, aside from their ability to transmute melody into treacle In short, this album could be compared to the following items: unsweetened oatmeal, the color beige, lukewarm water, or a big bowl of feces.
[Anonymous] gave it a 10:
I love every song on this album. I own about 90 CDs and this is my favorite by far. If you are a rock fan, and have a taste for good lyrics, and soulful voices - I suggest you get this disc immediately.
