Stylus Magazine
Riot! is immediately appealing because it focuses on sounds that have been neglected by the genre’s frontrunners. This is an uncomplicated album comprising of strikingly uncomplicated music, entirely lacking in 15 word song titles, Jay-Z guest appearances, and theatrical meta-concepts about performing in a rock band.

The sound quality is ultra-clean, it makes the listening experience relatively risk-free and also brings attention to the fact that there's not a lot of ground being broken here.
The good news is that for a bunch of brats they're well in control of the complex, riddling, labyrinthine structures that go toward making the perfect pop punk songs.

A spunky, Hayley-driven vehicle that nonetheless proves that Paramore justly deserves whatever critical acclaim it was getting.

Their biggest asset, though, is singer Hayley Williams, an 18-year-old siren with a killer fashion sense and an undeniable knack for writing contemplative love songs.

[Hayley Williams'] Tennessee crew's second album isn't as charmingly precocious as the first. [Jul 2007, p.116]
New Musical Express
In the end, whether it's a cynical bid for the mainstream or an experiment gone wrong, Riot barely registers as a minor disturbance.

Riot sounds like a crunching, flashlight-white amalgamation of Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson, save for token ballad "We Are Broken" that echoes the enchanting eighties sounds of Belinda Carlisle.

The Greatest!

Another pop-punk band? This stuff has been done to death. Popular music is becoming formulaic these days. Play some power chords over and over, keep a linear drum beat, add an okay singer, write emotional lyrics that pretend to be "deep" but aren't, and you're famous.
Molly F. gave it a10:
I love this album it is purky and upbeat and Hailey Williams is a spunky enthusaistic performer with a lot of heart as well as her band.

Maru M gave it a10:
This album is AMAZING. It shows, as Paramore intended, how the members of the band have matured since their first album, All We Know Is Falling, and matured not only emotionally, which can be seen in the content of their lyrics, but also musically; their musical production has evolved positively, creating as a result songs that have a catchy beat to adjust the profound lyrics. What´s best of it all, is that, taking into consideration their live performances, one can easily realize that the band´s talent is for real and not everything was processed like many bands in the actual music industry are.
