Magnet
A monumental record from a towering talent. [#59, p.103]
Splendid
Yours, Mine, and Ours is a fantastic album. In fact, it's one of the best things I've heard so far this year. On the other hand, I can count at least three other albums that bear the Joe Pernice stamp that are better than this.

The 10 tracks are hands down the most irresistible pop music you'll hear this year.

So when I say that Yours, Mine & Ours sounds too good to be true, I'm resolved after much deliberation that this is an entirely positive thing: it is impeccably conceived, executed, and produced.

Songwriting of the highest calibre. [Sep 2003, p.104]
All Music Guide
Yours, Mine & Ours is a truly grand record, another in the string of classic releases by Joe Pernice.... The kind of record fans of intelligent pop music played with real emotion should purchase. Immediately.

Yours, Mine & Ours strikes the same gorgeous, sad tone as its two predecessors.

Yours Mine & Ours has an easygoing vibe that gives Pernice's literate folk-pop ample room to roam. [11 Jul 2003, p.78]
Mojo
The balance between Joe's resigned words and uplifting melodies remains sublime. [Aug 2003, p.100]
PopMatters
Beyond serving as an excellent follow up to The World Won't End, Yours, Mine & Ours reveals a whole new side to the Pernice Brothers.

An adventurous meeting place between the Smiths' guitar-driven anthems, the Zombies' vocally intricate garage-pop, and melt-in-your-mouth '70s Quaalude rock.

And to anyone that contends they don't make them like they did anymore: listen to this. They still do.

Convincingly lovely through and through. [#17, p.140]
Pitchfork
Each track is fully realized, thoughtfully written, and prudently performed, rolled out with a steadiness that can become a little maddening after a handful of listens.
Doesn't quite have the ragged charm or the wry humor of 2001's outstanding The World Won't End; the occasional dose of guitar bombast ("One Foot in the Grave") doesn't serve Pernice well.
Read Full Review >Under The Radar
Ultimately, the saccharine vocals are forgivable, but those who like their power pop with a little bite may find the sound a bit off-putting. [#5, p.115]

Mike J gave it a10:
Some of the the most genuine, uplifing and feel good music I've heard in years! Thank you guys for this wonderful album!
L J gave it a10:
Another brilliant album by the Pernice Brothers and it's probably there best work to date!
Trek B gave it a10:
A pop masterpiece. I can listen to this over and over again. Very few albums have that effect on me. Pernice Brothers are the most underrated band in the world.
A C gave it a9:
Once again, Joe & Company prove why there one of the most reliable bands around. And there 3rd LP "Yours, Mine & Ours" proves my point. No wonder this has a 88 on metacritc, it's a beauiful record & joy to listen to. Joe Pernice has to be one of the best song writers in the music industry, right now. I don't know if "Yours, Mine & Ours" is not my favorite of their's, it's probably "Discover A Lovelier You" but YMO isn't too far behind, I don't there both probably neck & neck for first. Anway, this album has tons & tons gems, for example-- One Foot in the Grave, Baby in Two, Blinded by the Stars, The Weakest Shade of Blue & Sometimes I Remember. Overall, great album and one of the best of 05.
matt a gave it a10:
I rarley give a 10, but there really is not a single bad track on here. I feel bad for Joe Pernice though, because every cd that he puts out is incredible and he can only decide a few singles (although every song is worthy) for each one. Can't wait for his next one.
Chris S gave it a 9:
No single track dominates like "Crestfallen" or "Monkey Suit" did on Overcome By Happiness; or "Let That Show" or "Working Girls (Sunlight Shines)" on The World Won't End. But the record is *extremely* consistent that demands a listen front-to-back. Pernice is one of the greatest songwriters out there today. Great record.
