Billboard
The set oozes with timely funk beats and the kind of well-crafted songs that No. 1 hits are made of.

A frothy soufflé of an album, heavy on the groovy dance beats and go-girl goodwill, light on profundity.
Every genre cliché, from homogenized harmonies to delicately plucked stringed instruments to male rapper interjections, is securely in place. The music is so tasteful, restrained, and assembly line proficient that it makes early singles like ''Say You'll Be There'' sound like the rawest punk rock.

"Forever" is about as glossy as it gets. It's also understandably predictable.
It's been almost five years since England's Spice Girls had people smiling or sneering. Their third album, Forever, will probably provoke a reaction somewhere in the middle -- with one exception, it's just OK.
Read Full Review >Wall of Sound
An album of bland and relatively anonymous adult pop that rarely gets racier than offering to "keep you up all night" and "make you holler."
Yes, this is their "mature" album, the one where the once effervescent combo that could be counted on for enough hooky innuendoes to excite pre-teen girls and dirty young men alike aspire toward some sort of longer-lasting pop relevance. Which translates here into ballads and a huge dose of R&B-lite. It all sounds very professional, though only a hardcore fan can deny that the bloom is definitely off the rose.

Sure, they make all the right moves, hiring superstar producer Rodney Jerkins to helm most of the tracks and attempting to seem mature, but this all results in a record that is curiously self-conscious and flat. Neither the production, the songs, or the performances have much life to them, with the exception of the closer "Goodbye," which significantly was released as a Christmas single in 1999, long before the rest of the record was finished.

There's no gentle way of saying this, so let's cut to the chase. This record is, quite simply, useless.

fulvio r gave it a10:
For me this is the best Spice Girls' album
Amelia S gave it a10:
yeally good because it was relatable to!!!
Ivan E gave it a10:
i feel it was a very good last try. its my favorite spice girls album and think it was seriuosly underated, Holloer and Get Down With Me are my two favorite dance songs, so infectious as well as fun. The four ballads on the album absolutely shine Let Love Lead The Way and Time Goes By definitely demonstrate their vocal power, i loved the tag team vocals in these songs. The best songs on this album are without a doubt Goodbye, Oxygen and If You Wanna Have Some Fun. i cried when i first heard goodbye
Nick D. gave it a1:
If this is supposed to be a comeback, Spice Girls is about as vivid as a month-old fish. Monotony is the keyword for this horrible collection of sugary-sweet and peppy girlgroupmusic. But this does not surprise me; the fact that people still swallow this is no far from incomprehensible.
melanie g gave it a10:
best album i have ever heard in my life!!!!!!!! mwah x x x
bri gave it a 10:
they did it again... stylish image, smooth sound, classic lyrics... far better than their solo projects (atleast only in my humble opinion :P)
Ian C gave it a 0:
To all of the people how rated this album above a "0": I think a brain implant is neccesary.
