New Musical Express
See, in All Or Nothing, The Subways haven’t just made a great record – they’ve vindicated everyone who still believes in the power and the glory of three chords and distortion pedals.

The fact that they've managed to record an album so strong, consistent and downright impressive is proof positive that, after much promise, The Subways have come of age.
Buoyed with emotional heft and supernova guitar riffs, their second album is wired around a maturing songcraft and the studio savvy of grunge producer Butch Vig. [Aug 2008, p.112]
Alternative Press
The infectious All Or Nothing takes all the right things about their debut and improves on them. {Oct 2008, p.161]
PopMatters
All or Nothing has all of nothing wrong with it, unless you want to make an argument that that’s what’s wrong with it. Some would, but I won’t.

Emotional debris permeates almost every song here, but so assured are producer Butch Vig's pop touch and Cooper's harmonies that these pop-punk nuggests sound as sunny as anything on their debut. [Aug 2008, p.143]
Spin
Credit producer Butch Vig, too, who brings the trio closer to sonic Nirvana by coaxing out their snarls and then compressing and polishing them to maximum shininess.

Opening track Girls and Boys and the furious Turnaround are enough to make anyone over the age of 24 shake their head at the unnecessary racket. There are more muted moments, too, most of them musing upon the other recent event in Lunn's life.

Even at times it's over-polished, at the very least, it's super-sized. [July 2008, p.113]

Mark B. gave it an8:
Great follow up album the break up of Billy and Charlotte I thought would see the end of the subways but instead they have produced a fantastic album and a much more polished sound to their first album Young for Eternity. Good album and a joy to listen to, If you liked Young for Eternity, you will LOVE this
