Ultimately, it’s his own, most career-defining work to date. ... The record progresses--in every sense of the word---he allows himself to become more vulnerable, more considerate.

Astroworld shows the evolution of Travis Scott as an artist and is his most refined, imaginative, and rage-worthy project yet.

If Astroworld suffers from any sin, it’s a nearly endless ambition.

While Astroworld has some slight flaws, the project is Travis' best, most-progressive and most-well-rounded album to date.

Malone is an unmistakable presence on his songs, his otherworldly croon an essential element to his genre-hopping sound. Despite the considerable leaps in quality taken on Astroworld, it still doesn’t feel like Scott can muster that level of individuality.

The music might take your breath away, if the worst of the lyrics don’t make you roll your eyes. He’s very good at what he’s good at, but he’s not what you’d call well-rounded. Still, not everyone who has something to say, says it in words.

There's nothing to really get mad at, but there's not much to get excited about either. Scott is just "aight."

Days before rodeo was my introduction to Travis Scott and I thought he was a mix of Kanye and Cudi back then which was my favorite type of sound in music. I was hyped for Rodeo and thought it was amazing start to finish. Birds was also a really dope album to me, although I did prefer Rodeo but I thoroughly enjoyed Birds. Astroworld though may be better than Rodeo for me. The different sounds, switches of beats mid song and vibe was awesome. Not to mention Travis really stepped up his flows and even spits some decent lyrics which is always a plus (although not a big deal) because I listen to Travis for moods and vibes. Tons of Houston references all over the place that I pick up which makes it even more appealing for me. Super excited for his next project and his Astroworld Festival coming up in November in Houston. Expand

It is very well thought-out, very well-produced, Travis Scott's performance, vocal delivery, and lyricism are sharp and witty. The collaborations that pop up here and there take the listener by surprise, and most of them are on point, like The Weeknd on "SKELETONS", and Drake on "SICKO MODE" (I don't really like Drake much these days, but he sure killed that song); while on other tracks, Travis Scott seems to get the job done completely alone, like on the absolute highlight "5% TINT". Another highlight is the new chosen single "STOP TRYING TO BE GOD" which delivers a strong message.
Even though it may be a little overly long, there's no denying that "ASTROWORLD" is and always will be a defining point in Travis Scott's career forever.

A great album by Travis Scott. Sicko Mode brought me to this album, but I like most of the songs. Solid album.

Seeing kids in my hood running around wearing merch that got the name after a garbage album, supported by a garbage festival, that contributedSeeing kids in my hood running around wearing merch that got the name after a garbage album, supported by a garbage festival, that contributed to the passing of 10 people, is sickening. This dude should not be allowed to put his feet on a stage again.

Plus, you wanna talk about productions? "Butterfly Effect" and "WHO? WHAT!" are shamefully identical in every single way (being annoingly average as well). Let's talk about his spitting abilities though. His rapping skills are so bad that the best time he spitted was when he did that on a fan that paid to see him because he grabbed his shoe. He interrupted the concert for that though, but when it comes to saving people lives, he was asking the crowd to get more "crazy" and throw their middle fingers to the sky.
