  1. For once drum'n'bass's impossible Conlon Nancarrow beats, which Plug does pretty well with on those EPs, are the bed where the real music crinkles, crashes, chimes, swoops, swells, squiggles, gurgles, cracks wise, and just generally hooks you.
  2. Feb 15, 2012
For music that is over 15 years old, Back on Time sounds as fresh as a sitar-wielding half-stepping daisy.
  3. Uncut
    Jan 24, 2012
Back On Time is restlessly inventive without being overwrought. [Feb 2012, p.97]
  4. Jan 24, 2012
For the most part, Vibert's approach to drum & bass still sounds unique, although there are some signs that this was produced in the '90s if you're looking for them.
  5. Jan 24, 2012
Every track on this album is excellent in its own way.
  6. Apr 24, 2012
Listening to Back on Time is a throwback to the peak drum'n'bass era-this album is chock-full of authentic '90s flavor.
  7. Feb 22, 2012
It's a pleasing set on its own terms, but it's just as interesting as a contrast to contemporary electronics, to hear what traits and effects have faded as its evolved so rapidly.
  8. The Wire
    Feb 17, 2012
Back On Time does reek of that era (1990s) rather than more recent productions trying belatedly to push the same buttons. [Mar 2012, p.68]
  9. Jan 24, 2012
Although not earth shattering, it's all of a high standard with no real nadirs.
  10. Jan 24, 2012
It's a kitchen sink-like flood of sound, always on the verge of resembling a gigantic curveball being forced down your throat, but with Vibert pulling back from the humor brink at all the right moments.
