Personally, i think B'Day is garbage. I think it is just a regular cd from someone who has been making music for a while now. She can give you something to dance to, and thats cool. But who cant? Nothing about this album is special. I think it would have been better if she wouldnt have rushed it, just to try to run Letoya out the game.Toya still doin it big. I think it would have been better if she wouldnt have rushed it, just to try to run Letoya out the game.Toya still doin it big. Her album songs sound all the same. I only tolerated kitty kat, and ring the alarm. I'll be real, even though i cant stand this woman most of the time, she can sing like h***. Ill be fair. But it doesnt matter if you can sing when what you sing has the most retarded messages. "Rock diamond's on my neck got diamonds on my records" BEYONCE U COPYCAT. Stop tryin to show everybody up. Let kelly release her album. Stop being unfair to Letoya, we both know this is 'Toya's first solo and you have had 2 now, stop trying to run the game. Kelis is the boss. Stop using Jay-z as your street cred. Grow the feezy up and make a song that means something. Take a lesson from my girl Kelis, with her song "trilogy" Go to the moon and back, then try to holla at us. Stop releasing what you "think" is hot, and release what you feel in your soul is "hot" Tell jay-z u dont need him for your songs. Kelis definately didnt need Nas, but she included him because he is her husband, and who better for "blindfold" You can tell that dude love some Kelis. Stop shakin your ass, i mean thighs, in front of Jay-z b/c it seems he obviously isn't too shaken up by it.Your career needs to die. No longer are you the baddest bitch in the game. The only reason your album B'day did so good the first few weeks was because your last album was straight. But "different" is in,and many people think it is cool so that's what you need to do. All of your songs are all about your money and materialistic pursuit, and your body, like every woman doesnt have one. Do you see how kelis varys in her styles rather than doing just whats in, and she's not talking about physical things; she sings from her soul and the rawness of it touches people. Your album isnt doing good b/c we all know it's all about fame in your case. We dont trust you. Your fake. Your undermine your own talent by showing us that all you can do is shake your ass on some guy who isnt even looking at you and isnt your husband. Re-think your image. You will never be the baddest again. Kelis did it. It's time for you to step up. Constructive criticism. Expand

These early reviews have to be kidding me. Although the beats are decent, B'Day is filled with egocentric references and poorly written lyrics that seem to repeat themselves over and over. It may be a step up from Dangerously In Love, but because Beyonce created this album in a rush, it suffers.

Not a great album to be honest. There are glimpses of the Beyonce I know and love (Upgrade U, Ring The Alarm, Irreplaceable) but otherwise not the greatest.

While she is trying to be cutting edge the songs just don't work. She screeches, she bleats and overall its terrible work. Almost one dimensional. The songs sound the same.

I was given this CD by my uncle who has no idea what music I like and I was sooo shocked at the songs she had on here. "Your sex aint all that." Since when did this professing Christian become a revealing clothes wearing screamer. i think the only sensible traks are:irreplaceable, resentments and maybe listen. She's not like before, she's selling her body instead of her songs that are unsensible and full of self-superiority.Now she thinks that becase she as become someone in te musical field, she thinks every work that will came out of her mouth will be successfull. Must have been working too hard on Dreamgirls to pay attention to this. Also, it is the shortest release I've seen in a while. Liitle quantity and quality. Come on B, you're so much better than this. Listen to some divas and put your talent to use

Too many uptempo songs that dont showcase her vocal ability....I thought the last album was far better.

I'm a gay latin boi so I love Beyonce, but I'm a little saturated. It seems like she's everywhere and releading a new something something every single day since "Crazy in Love" came out. i

Unfortunately most of the songs sound like Crazy in Love. Hopefully Kelly and Michelle will be free in a couple of months to do another DC album.

She's talented and I love her. But this is not one of her best works. I could hardly get through this under produced medley of loud singing no personality CD.

RING THE ALARM has to be the most annoying song in history. Gurl, you'd betta ring it again! Get back in the studio, learn your craft and take your time. Two weeks on a CD--I ain't buyin' it!!!! C'mon Bee!

Awful. I gave a point for every good song on the album - Deja Vu, Ring The Alarm, Irreplaceable, Listen and Upgrade U - and then took away a point for the dismal single Beautiful Liar and the fact that Listen is only a bonus track. It is soooo dull and uninspired - even worse than her solo effort which is awful.

It was pretty good. The three songs I liked were Freakum Dress, Irreplacible, and Deja Vu. Usually I love Beyonce but this C.D wasnt as good.

the album is cool, but I expect more from her since the album needs a long time to produce. Some of the songs are not memorable.

Beyonce's second best album, even though "B'Day" is only six stars. All of the songs are pretty good, but they just come and go in streaks of liking and disliking them.

I am not the biggest Beyonce fan, and I don't really like her music, but songs like "Irreplaceable" and "Beautiful Liars" are songs that I appreciate.

Well, this experience was way better than her debut because of expectations and because you can hear Beyoncé's sound in this record. Although it's not a great album nor it has great songs, "B'Day" is where one of the greatest artist of all times finds herself - at least artistically.

  1. Whereas Beyoncé's debut was accomplished in its diversity, albeit a sure sign of a new solo artist trying to find her voice, B'Day sounds like the album "Crazy In Love" initially forecasted.

B'Day never cools down, and swaety up-tempo numbers prove the best platform for Beyonce's rapperly phrasing and pipe-flaunting fireballs. [Sep 2006, p.138]
  3. Apart from a few pop-R&B space-fillers, there's not much to dislike about B'Day.
