    While the lyrics here do tend to come off as pretentious at times, the sentiment is still admirable and actually pays off on songs like “March in September.”

It is a human process of comparison, which facilitates understandings and expectations, making everything easier also, for the whole entertaining industry. It´s also something that many artists themselves end eventually doing. To get the great picture, the major context makes all the task more honest and the so called professional critic also usually tend to not have time for it, committing the horrible habit ever of just base their texts in the press releases. I consider NMA my favorite all time artist, period. I got to know the Ghost of Cain in its release year yet at that point the band already gave to world at least 2 previous main registrations and was touring many places I would not imagine at that time. Chances gave me that I knew soon after their first efforts and the environment references of band´s trajectory, which culminated with a gig in the first Brazilian Tour in 1991. And since then, with ups and downs (band´s and my side), more of the previous, fortunately, I got to know this BDAW, which if I would (already doing) compare (sorry!) with any other of their pieces, I would do with its later Winter (2016), not considering the Between Wine And Blood, one that it´s kind of extension of BDAW and not a full length new studio work. That pointed out, it´s just a matter of personal taste: believing that Winter is still to grow in my preferences, I can say that BDAW is New Model Army in a new igniting remarkable point in its history lines (lineup with the same bassplayer Ceri Monger btw up to the present Winter Tour part2) that no other period gave in terms of stability: continuously touring, creating within all the same members, enlarging the family community across the generations and within the own label and structure.
    Songs on BDAW has already characteristics of classics of the band and I would bet: 7Times, March In September, Knievel, Stormclouds and the title itself will be in many all time list of the band. Production was made for state of art (mastering, arts graphics design).
    Last considerations: my best track is Lean Back and Fall; my least enjoyable is Summermoors. And likewise (in reverse!) happened to Winter release (in which my opening track would be Burn the Castle, leaving Beginning (yes!) to the last) , I would put Ghosts for the opening before Horsemen. Anyway, who cares? I´m another old fashioned vinyl bastard and with all the digital life available you can order the songs the succession way you want.
