Critics don't know what they are talking about. Great progression from their second album.

I am new to Billy Talent's music. I've heard so much praise of their work, that when I saw their new release, I figured I should give it a try. Well I must say I was impressed. I was expecting something like Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Blink 182 or any of the Punk/Emo bands from the last 10 years that I really don’t understand. Yes they make catchy tunes, but most of them are meaningless. I grew up with Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Soundgarden; bands that have been mixing good music with good lyrics. So, I kinda had problem with anything new lately because Punk music became mainstream and quickly forgotten. Ok, I’m not here to start a debate. I probably feel the same way about Good Charlotte, as my mother and her Beatles feels about Nirvana. This simply meaning that I’m getting older and that most music doesn’t talk to me anymore. Again and back on Billy Talent III, I was surprise and I believe this is one of the few bands that has the potential to become the next Green Day and still be around in 15 years from now. Their lyrics are inspired and I can’t get the beat of their music out of my head. I have been reading the professional reviews and I don’t understand why it didn’t scored higher. After enjoyer III, I bought the first 2 as well, and for some reason I don’t find them as interesting as this one. This might explain the low score, this album is lot different from their previous work, but I like it better. Every single tune is catchy and has a nice writing. Expand

I don't know what album the critics are hearing, it isn't the one I heard. Great album, a solid effort. Not quite as good as the first album, but better then the second.

I do not know what the critics seem to have against this album it is probably because it is not the mainstream trash that they listen too.others say that the lyrics have no meaning.Saint Veronika should proove them wrong. This album has made Bill y Talent my favourite band.

From a band who I've enjoyed thoroughly thanks to some catchy songs, this album left me wondering.....I just can't get into these new songs at all. Fans of commercial rock I think will enjoy it, but I can't get into it at all.

After the 3rd Album they still sound as they did on the first. way to not sell out your unique style, which by the way people love and critics for some reason do not.

I had to listen to it a few times before I bought into it because it does seem to lack some of the energy of the first two. Still it has really grown on me and though its not nearly as good as the first album it is better then the second. Definatley worth giving a chance.

Very good commercial rock, with old punk roots. Think Incubus with old school punk balls.

Honestly the is a decent record. It will grow on you. I use to hate his music and style but now i find it innovating and definitely unoccupied.

This album got my really into Billy Talent music. Although I had known before two or three songs, I did not pay attention to that album. Whatever the critics say... I don't care. This is my favourite album.

This is a great album, and a natural progression from Billy Talent I and II (btw why are they not on Metacritic? they deserve a 10). The critics are completely ridiculous. While the album is definitely not as edgy and intense as the first two efforts, there is definitely insane guitar work that rivals anything that is out right now. The best songs include but are not limited to: Devil on my Shoulder, Rusted from the Rain, Saint Veronika, White Sparrows, The Dead can't Testify, Diamond on a Landmine, Turn your back and Sudden Movements. 1. When they stretch farthest away from their origins, as they do on the plodding power ballad 'Sudden Movements,' their sound takes a turn for the best.
  2. The intensity on Billy Talent III feels the same as the intensity of the band's live show, awkwardly forced and absolutely repellent.
  3. III is unspectacular, yet it's laudable that Billy Talent's chins to remain unencumbered by the ballbags of big business.
