  • Summary: The third studio album (under the Billy Talent name) for the Canadian band was produced by Brendan O'Brien.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 0 out of 7
  2. Negative: 1 out of 7
  1. Brendan O’Brien, best known for his continuous work with Pearl Jam and Springsteen, takes over from Gavin Brown on Billy’s third s/t offering, and there’s some noticeable dulling of the edges here.
  2. When they stretch farthest away from their origins, as they do on the plodding power ballad 'Sudden Movements,' their sound takes a turn for the best.
  3. III is unspectacular, yet it’s laudable that Billy Talent’s chins to remain unencumbered by the ballbags of big business.
  4. The intensity on Billy Talent III feels the same as the intensity of the band's live show, awkwardly forced and absolutely repellent.

Critics don't know what they are talking about. Great progression from their second album.

Fans have a dangerous ability to become negative when hit by change. The third album is a solid album that retains the lyrical and melodic talent of the band. That said, it falls short of the first two 'Billy Talent' albums which were sublime. That does not write it off however, it still provides a powerful listen. Expand

Very good commercial rock, with old punk roots. Think Incubus with old school punk balls.

From a band who I've enjoyed thoroughly thanks to some catchy songs, this album left me wondering.....I just can't get into these new songs at all. Fans of commercial rock I think will enjoy it, but I can't get into it at all. Expand
