Rosanne is good, always does, but in this album, she's just average... with a few good songs and many poor, hushed, boring songs.

I saw this tour recently and I was non-plussed to say the least. It's sad that Rosanne lost her dad, arguably one of the true giants of our culture, but trying to translate her loss into music is taking Joe Fanatic Rosanne Fan into the realm of discomfort. Her showcase featuring this album is a mess. Something about water, stark landscapes, dead leaves, and blurry automobiles. She�39;s right when she said it's not a summer party album. It's not even fit for the Addams Family. For all of you lapdogs who gave this a perfect score, you hearby have your reviewing credentials permanently revoked. If you want to hear a truly flawless album by Rosanne, pick up "Interiors." Which leads me to another bone to pick, this one with her handlers. You're representing one of the best female artists on the planet, and you idiots didn't even have half of her records on sale during the "Rules of Travel" tour. You all should be banned to a lifetime of listening to the Opry cows.… Expand

I recently had the honor of watching her perform at Carnegie Hall and meeting her afterward. I consider myself a HUGE fan now. Black Cadillac is to me, about journeys of the soul, heart and coming up stronger, wiser and more at peace. She's even greater live - a true artist!

Life, Love, Death = Great Art! In lesser hands this would have turned into a bad tribute album. Cash is astounding in her lyrics and melody. I hope everyone gets a chance to hear this CD.

A very strong and coherent album with some fine tunes and lyrics about the deaths of close relatives (well, some very well-known relatives, that is..). Some of the stuff is a bit too MOR and gets a bit boring after few listens. Rosanne Cash has a tendency to sound a bit too adult sometimes which is a criticism in my book anyway..but still: very strong effort overall.

To these ears, INTERIORS is as stripped-down and emotional an album as say, Plastic Ono Band by John Lennon. While BLACK CADILLAC might be a bit more ornate and diverse instrumentally, lyrically it visits the same raw, ominous, emotionally wrenching territory, and then goes way past it. There are a couple of songs here, notably "Radio Operator" which recall "Seven Year Ache" or "Hold On" in a musical sense, while the title track begins as a dirge, with production that would make Daniel Lanois drool. The woman has come full circle with this effort, reflecting on her past in so many ways it's both a joy and a pain to hear, simply because she once again has laid her soul bare for the listener. A stunning release, and one that will likely be viewed in years to come as her very best album. Some people have the incredible gift of taking emotions and making them universal---without being preachy or maudlin. Her loss is the listener's gain. Absolutely Brilliant. It's one of my favourite albums this year. I think everyone should get this album, even if you dont normally listen tp this kind of music, you will love this album

No good.

This album is very personal. Like listening in to Johhny's daughter's bedside chat to herself, confidential but she is bearing it all and it is a beautiful listen. But the phrase "Westward leading, still proceeding?" Where have I heard that before? Some one tell me?

Ms. Cash has made an album that pays tribute to the memory of those she has lost. Its extremely personal and touching. She takes us through the stages of grief one song at a time and its a wonderful journey. A great album.

2006 is still young and one of the best albums of the year is already out. Bravo Rosanne!

This is one of the best CD's I've heard in a long time. Anyone who has had to deal with the grief of losing a parent should take this CD to heart. It's a testament of healing through art. Some of the best lyrics I've heard in a long time. Leventhal and Bottrell do an outstanding job of producing the CD and allow the honesty of the lyrics and music speak for themself.

Ranks up there with Interiors. Rules of Travel, her previous CD, sounds like a routine Rosanne Cash album compared to Black Cadillac. On Black Cadillac, the melodies are strong while the music is varied and gritty. The music prevents her very poignant lyrics (inspired by the death of her parents) from being drowned in syrup.

The best Rosanne has done yet.

A long-time fan, even I found this record to be shockingly good. Rosanne's voice has never been so heavy with emotion, and she has never looked this far outside herself in her songs. There is a lot to think about and to feel. Each offering here is a polished gem--a remarkable achievement.
