    Cloud Control's lyrics may not be revolutionary, but that isn't the point of Bliss Release. It is a demonstration of truly versatile, fresh talent, a debut full to the brim of completely absorbing, compelling songs.

    Bliss Release is perhaps a little too derivative to justify the classic status it's been afforded in the band's homeland, but it's still a delightfully charming debut, made even more impressive by their hastily assembled beginnings.
  3. There are standouts aplenty and, as song rolls seamlessly into song.

    Although the album's been released in the United States a year after it was in their native Australia, the songs have held up quite nicely, memorable and unique as they are.

  1. An amazing debut from a very talented band. Every track is enjoyable and there is no shortage of fun to be had while listening to Bliss Release. I eagerly look forward to the follow up album from Cloud Control. Expand
  2. Just a great album, from a great ex-pat Aussie band. "My Fear #2" is [for me] the strongest track, with "Meditation Song #2" (again with the numbering scheme!), "The Rolling Stone" and "Ghost Story" rounding out a mostly superb album. Four strong tracks, no bad tracks. Expand
