Just a great album, from a great ex-pat Aussie band. "My Fear #2" is [for me] the strongest track, with "Meditation Song #2" (again with the numbering scheme!), "The Rolling Stone" and "Ghost Story" rounding out a mostly superb album. Four strong tracks, no bad tracks.

An amazing debut from a very talented band. Every track is enjoyable and there is no shortage of fun to be had while listening to Bliss Release. I eagerly look forward to the follow up album from Cloud Control.

Bliss Release is perhaps a little too derivative to justify the classic status it's been afforded in the band's homeland, but it's still a delightfully charming debut, made even more impressive by their hastily assembled beginnings.

Although the album's been released in the United States a year after it was in their native Australia, the songs have held up quite nicely, memorable and unique as they are.

As debuts go this is in its way a throwback to a bygone era when bands offered up flawed but fertile inaugural efforts of the kind that made "promising" a buzz word before there were buzz words.
