This is one of my favourite cd's ever and the best Sneaker Pimps have done in my opinion. An overall of 47 is just ABSURD, c'mon people! Chris' heavenly vocals, the composition... The adultlyrics aren't their strongest; yet every track is exciting and wonderful. Makes you shiver, make you cry, this band is amazing. Listen to Think Harder, Bloodsport, Lorretta Young Silks, The Fuel, Grazes or the catchy Kiro Tv and judge yourself. This are the same biased reviewers that hype LCD Soundsystem, find the new Trail of Dead unispired and don't give a new Stereophonics album a chance. A 10, really, for every great song here! Expand

Anyone who can call this a disapointment needs to look closer. The composition of the tracks, Chris' strained indie-esque vocals and a hard back beat make this album stunning. Well, for me anyway.

Splinter has its weak moments. So does this album. 'Loretta..', 'Black Sheep' and 'Sick' make up for them though.

Supremely refined pop. Loretta Young Silks is another belter for the angst-pop generation.

The Sneaker Pimps are just the most interesting band to me today. Corner's voice is sublime, it can make you feel a large panel of emotions. And this album is just their best (with Splinter). Excellent !

I love this record. It's even better than their first two. The beats and sound effects are really interesting, if not entirely original. Their used well and the lyrical themes and hooks are awesome. A great dark-pop album.

A really well-executed album; great beats and melodies and Chris' voice makes one wonder why they ever bothered hiring another singer in the first place.

This album should be compulsory listening so everyone can understand what a high 9 rating is equivalent to. This is easily an album that all other albums can and should be compared against. It is almost flawless in terms of its composition, production, lyrics, depth, and originality. This CD is up there with Portishead's "Dummy", The Beastie Boys "Hello Nasty", and The Fugees "The Score". This is superb music that deserves a far larger audience, but thankfully it remains an underground gem and so can never be held hostage to the demands of a "marketing first" society. Expand

Listenable, but compared to the first two Sneaker Pimps recordings, this is a disappointment.

Sounds like a watered-down Pearl Jam spiked with a drum machine and a couple of extra synths. [Feb 2002, p.123]
  2. Save for a few heavy-handed tracks, such as the lame religion-as-porn clunker "Blue Movie" and the drag of "Loreta Young Silks," the disc offers a satisfyingly rich aural texture.
  3. Has only occasional flashes of inspiration. [Jan 2002, p.107]
