Derivative, weak, substanceless, and insipid are the words that should really describe this album....I couldn't quite believe the woman singing such naive unsophisticated lyrics was actually 36 y/o....shocking! it defintely does not deserve such praise as it has got here. Kylie's Grammy win was a joke too, with such a weak album that so obviously was rushed they had to give it Derivative, weak, substanceless, and insipid are the words that should really describe this album....I couldn't quite believe the woman singing such naive unsophisticated lyrics was actually 36 y/o....shocking! it defintely does not deserve such praise as it has got here. Unfortunately this stands as Minogue's worst recording....EVER! Collapse

Infravalorado totalmente, es bastante mejor que Fever y es mas osado, tiene mas canciones con potencial de haber sido hits, en cambio su anterior trabajo solo se salvan a lo mucho 3 canciones.

Kylie Minogue is not oversexed but undeniably sultry and seductive. Although this album lacked some spark in the US, Body Language is a masterpiece of dance, seduction, catchy beats and perfect production. There is nothing dramitically done with her genuine voice in the age of pop stars being made by computers. While her voice doesn't boast the power of fellow pop star divas like Kylie Minogue is not oversexed but undeniably sultry and seductive. If you think of reliving the 'fever' era, think twice... This petitie lady shows she's got more to offer and here to stay. There is little of artistic merit on here. She has nothing to say either. An insubstantial collection of pop pap.

One of her best, although she really needs to grow up and stop thinking about money. She is definetely a singles artist, and her only great album was Impossible Princess, since then its been all about making commercial pop/dance songs. She wrote very few of these tracks, so she can not claim credit for the experimental tracks here. It gets a 6 because of Slow - her best ever single, and a One of her best, although she really needs to grow up and stop thinking about money. Those expecting Fever Part 2 will be very let down. However, if it's a sassy, classy album, full of fun and shiney noises then this is the one for you. Forget your expectations and judge this collection of songs on their own merits, you'll really enjoy it. HONEST!! :o)

This being Kylie's 9th album, it's fair to say that things keep getting better. Body Language has so many irresistble songs that's impossible not to love.

Wow! This album proves that Kylie keeps on getting better with every album released by her so far! I never expected another album to be as good as Fever but it looks like Kylie has done it again! Though Body Language may not surpass Fever in many ways, it is still on par with it! A great album!!!

Some tracks ('Chocolate', 'Sweet Music') are crafted to perfection. Others are a little on the odd side. Many are undanceable, have little melody structure and don't have much personality. Its one of the Kylies best , "ever", much more mature, crative and fresh. Timeless, it is the bridge to connect America (even south) with her. Her creativity never ends.

The album brought a more R&B sound with the goal of Kylie Minogue to remain in the US market after the success of the album "Fever". However, the style did not match with Minogue, even though she was a complete artist to suit different styles.

    A disco pop masterpiece.

If you base your review on the lyrical content included in Kylie's work then don't expect much.
She and her co-writers make POP MUSIC, not "cloud rap".

I will never understand why Body Language is considered one of Minogue's worst albums. The album is sophisticated and has one of her best songs of her career 'Slow'.

Kylie’s 9th studio album, Body language contains a mix of electropop beats and a mixture of loads of other electronic beats combined with a RnB feel. The album is almost all over the place with electronic “Slow” to RnB style “Chocolate”. I definitely understand what people are saying... BUT! No one can do the sultriness of Chocolate and the electrifying masterpiece that is Still Standing and serve the cheekiness from Secret (Take You Home) while carrying the timeless sensuality from Slow and Loving Days, ALL IN ONE ALBUM!

A suite of weak songs and half-finished ideas. [Mar 2004, p.120]
  2. Body Language isn’t so much a massive artistic leap as it is a total distillation of her sound and style.
  3. Body Language finds Kylie partying like it's 1987 all over again, only minus the dubious millinery and Jason Donovan, taking inspiration from the likes of Kool and the Gang and Prince to pleasing if not always memorable effect.
