Bon Voyage shows that Melody's Echo Chamber is far from being just a Kevin Parker creation. Prochet's vision is her own, and it's strong enough here to fly free of any and all constraints.

Lyrically, Bon Voyage searches for healing and “some kind of light to come,” and the chemistry Prochet found with Swahn and Fiske seems to deliver it; this album is as freeing to listen to as it must’ve been to create.

I give this album a 10 for what it does for pushing the genre forward. Dreampop has been stuck in the same soft synth ambient sound for too long and Melody is really setting a new stage with this album. It is short and sweet and covers almost every emotion imaginable. The other thing that helps is the most grabby and conventionally catchy songs are backloaded, so just as you might be starting to tire the welcome home straight arrives to rescue you in the nick of time.
